Aloha! I am an avid kayaker, hiker, and snorkeler, as well as being one of the top rated guides on ToursByLocals. My family relocated to Hawai'i over 30 years ago and I am a student of Hawaiian history and culture. The Manoa Falls Trail offers a moderate, approximately 60-minute round trip, hike through a spectacular rain forest to one of the island of O'ahu's best waterfalls. During the hike, your local guide, Kirk, will "talk story" with you about Hawaiian history, culture, and his own experience living in the Aloha State for over a decade. After the hike, Kirk will take you to one of his favorite local spots for lunch. After the hike, the tour will continue with a little bit of sightseeing. First, an excursion up Round Top Drive to the Puu Ualakaa State Park which offers a panoramic view overlooking the Diamond Head State Monument, Waikiki, and downtown Honolulu. After a break for lunch, the tour takes you through the State Capitol Historic District to view the Iolani Palace, Kamehameha Statue, and more. The tour concludes with a scenic drive to the Nu'uanu Pali Lookout, which offers an impressive view of the windward side of O'ahu.

An experience like no other. Kirk's robust knowledge of the history,vegetation,and geology+local customs/cultures, brings an all unmatched educational experience. Sites are accompanied by musical selections directly mentioning the location. He knows the authentic cuisine and the hidden gems of the island you won't find in any guidebook.
