Liverpool is particularly special because it is a World Heritage Site, designated because of its maritime and mercantile history, and the route I have chosen for this tour will tell you the story of the city and its people. I love peeling away layers of history to discover what makes cities tick and can't wait to introduce you to some of my favourite places and draw your eye to those small details that tell a story, but you don't always pick up from a guidebook. Come with me and discover this amazing city.
• tour start: the heart of the World Heritage Site: the waterfront with the iconic Three Graces • quick photostop at the famous statue of the Beatles • walk through the Royal Albert Dock • pass through the tastefully designed Liverpool One shopping centre and through the city centre's oldest building to reach the Cultural Quarter • walk gently uphill to the Catholic and Anglican Cathedrals, linked by the appropriately named Hope Street • guided tour of the Anglican Cathedral • return to Liverpool's shopping and restaurant area via China Town and the city's old rope walks This tour can be adapted to fit your preferences e. g. to finish in the Beatles Quarter at the Cavern Club. Please contact me and I'll be pleased to help.
