Hello, my name is Jack Rigby (i still need to check my ancestry to see if Eleanor is a relation) and I live and work in the great city of Liverpool that you will be visiting. i'm sure you already know but Liverpool is a fantastic city in the North West of England that is steeped in rich history, from the legendary band "The Beatles", to the world famous Liverpool Football Club, to centuries old beautiful Architecture - Liverpool has so much to offer (i'm biased of course, but it's true). So that's where I come in! Visiting such a vast-diverse city is exciting and i'm sure you want to make the most of your time and see and experience all the best parts. I believe I am just the man for the job. I have 14 years experience guiding in and around the city. I worked for 9 years for Liverpool Football club (who are currently one of the best teams on the planet), taking fans from all around the world around our beautiful stadium Anfield and telling them about the history of the club and some great stories too. I have also worked on the LFC open top tour bus (for 4 years), which takes tourists from the beautiful water front of Liverpool's Albert Docks down to the stadium and back again. In this tour I not only talk about football but include a lot of info about Liverpool's great builidngs and maritime history. I am a guide who is organised and has structure, but also likes to be flexible, have fun and allow you the freedom to contribute and change things in the moment on the day. As ultimately this is your tour and your experience, so you getting the most out of it is paramount. And of course I am a local "scouser", (a scouser is a nickname for a person from Liverpool). As a tour guide in the city of Liverpool I am spoiled with the places I am able to take visitors and the history and stories I have at my disposal. On this tour we will visit all the best places that characterise and make up my great city, with such a vast and varied history there's lots to fit in. The city is known around the world for many different reasons - its cultural, sporting, musical and maritime heritage are just some that should be named. To give you the full experience I will take you to all of these places that truly give the city its heart and soul. I'm lucky enough to have taken people on tours of my city for a decade now and hope to give you the best time possible, after all it's your tour and your day. 5 stars is not high enough for Jack! He’s the only way anyone should see Liverpool. He loves his city, knows his city & it shows. We still can’t believe all the things we got to see & do on this Liverpool tour with Jack. Jack was awesome. We feel like we not only got a great guide who we will recommend to friends who travel to Liverpool, but we also made a friend. His “insiders “ knowledge of the city was amazing. He answered all of our questions and we could tell by his responses that he is continually adding to his knowledge through research, reading, and getting to know his city so that he can share it with us. Highly recommend and I look forward to seeing him again when we visit Liverpool in the future.
We had an excellent tour with Jack in Liverpool. He is a great guy and has tons of knowledge about the Beatles and the city of Liverpool. We had asked for a mix of both and he definitely delivered. Don’t miss the Cathedral on your visit and the stories of how the Beatles got together was serendipity. We saw the houses of all but George and the stories behind their upbringing. Jack brought in bits about the family history, personal friends and how their music began to click. He delivered on the iconic places and buildings in Liverpool and their history with the Titanic. Liverpool is definitely worth visiting and a tour with Jack should be on the top of your list.
