Hello, my name is Jack Rigby (i still need to check my ancestry to see if Eleanor is a relation) and I live and work in the great city of Liverpool that you will be visiting. i'm sure you already know but Liverpool is a fantastic city in the North West of England that is steeped in rich history, from the legendary band "The Beatles", to the world famous Liverpool Football Club, to centuries old beautiful Architecture - Liverpool has so much to offer (i'm biased of course, but it's true). So that's where I come in! Visiting such a vast-diverse city is exciting and i'm sure you want to make the most of your time and see and experience all the best parts. I believe I am just the man for the job. I have 14 years experience guiding in and around the city. I worked for 9 years for Liverpool Football club (who are currently one of the best teams on the planet), taking fans from all around the world around our beautiful stadium Anfield and telling them about the history of the club and some great stories too. I have also worked on the LFC open top tour bus (for 4 years), which takes tourists from the beautiful water front of Liverpool's Albert Docks down to the stadium and back again. In this tour I not only talk about football but include a lot of info about Liverpool's great builidngs and maritime history. I am a guide who is organised and has structure, but also likes to be flexible, have fun and allow you the freedom to contribute and change things in the moment on the day. As ultimately this is your tour and your experience, so you getting the most out of it is paramount. And of course I am a local "scouser", (a scouser is a nickname for a person from Liverpool). As a tour guide in the city of Liverpool I am spoiled with the places I am able to take visitors and the history and stories I have at my disposal. On this tour we will visit all the best places that characterise and make up my great city, with such a vast and varied history there's lots to fit in. The city is known around the world for many different reasons - its cultural, sporting, musical and maritime heritage are just some that should be named. To give you the full experience I will take you to all of these places that truly give the city its heart and soul. I'm lucky enough to have taken people on tours of my city for a decade now and hope to give you the best time possible, after all it's your tour and your day. Jack was great. After a short walking tour in Chester, we had a fabulous Beatles tour in Liverpool, seeing the homes and other places associated with the band and learning what was behind many of the songs. Jack is personable and knowledgeable. A most enjoyable day.
Jack was a fabulous tour guide! We had so much fun reliving our own Beatles memories.! Jack enhanced the tour with some factoids which were previously unknown to us. A visit to Strawberry Field was so exciting! Our visit to Chester was amazing in spite of the weather. What an unexpected pleasure! As we were 5 Seniors, Jack was acutely aware of our restroom and food needs. We never had to ask. He was also cognizant of our need to return to the cruise port on time. I would highly recommend Jack as a fun, knowledgeable tour guide. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of having a competent tour guide to enhance your visit to a given city or town. You miss so much without it.
We absolutely loved our day in Liverpool with Jack. He is most knowledgeable and accommodating as a guide. He knows so much about music and the Beatles. We had been to Liverpool before and thought we knew it all but thanks to Jack to left with even more knowledge and interesting stories. He is the best!
It was our greatest pleasure to meet such a wonderful, passionate about his work, knowledgeable about every single street and stone in Chester, true gentleman and an impeccable professional as Jack. He was very punctual yet not in a hurry, letting us learn and move at our own pace while offering everything that was needed. Delivery of information was very entertaining with an unique and historic feel from a true insider. We wish we could give Jack six stars and have more tour and friendly chats together!
