It has a rich History and one of the biggest old towns, full of World Heritage sites declared by UNESCO; such as the Cathedral, the Royal Alcazar, the Archive of Indies. So still today, walking through the narrow alleys we can appreciate different remains that transport us to that century, to that way of life. 15th and 16th centuries gave to this city even more importance due to the Port of the Indies situated next to the Gold Tower at the Guadalquivir River. After Christopher Columbus arrived to American soil, most of the gold, silver and precious stones that later on arrived to Spain, would come first to this city, to this port; since the "House of Trade" founded in 1503 by the Catholic Monarchs had its seat in Seville. So this centuries were very important in order to give wealth to the city. 17th century was also important to Seville, but in this case, not owing to economical richness but because of the most influencial artists as painters and sculptors belongs to this century.
