FEEL, EXPERIENCE SEVILLE LIKE A NATIVE! Hello! I am Carmen from Seville. Ring a bell? But now I'm a guide, and perhaps not just any other guide, or what do you think?. Yes, I used to roll cigars, remember? But those days are gone and now I will not even dare have your eyes roll, but just to admire and gaze at the full beauty of my Seville, the city where I was born, the city I love and I will make you love too. The old tobacco Factory? Funny, I never left it, since it was then turned into a University, and there I ended up taking my BA in English language. And true to my gypsy roots, I also travelled the world a bit and even lived in England for five years And back to my city, I have to say that it is not just the home of the world's largest Gothic cathedral or of one of the most exquisite arabesque palaces in Western Europe, but it is also the city of Carmen: full of life, energy, passion, exoticism and light. The light I would like to use to colour your experience of Seville, with interesting anecdotes, lots of humor, wit and good conversation. Conventional tours are not my style. In the past as we strolled along the Guadalquivir River: "Oh Merimé, how sweet of you to hum those seguidillas for me. Such beautiful music!" But what about the "manzanillas"? You will now ask -in the present. Oh! those I would like to drink with you my dear guest". Leave Carmen to guide you at her pace and her own way! I have been working as a guide for twenty years and after that accumulated experience, I have realized that the secret of my success is enjoying my tours. I am not a conventional guide and therefore neither are my tours. To discover Seville doesn't have to mean running from monument to monument cramming your head with facts, but to be able to enjoy the full experience of it, since the city opens to a whole diversity of activities. Besides, same as the rest of my colleagues, I can also guarantee: Skipping the lines A full licensed guide Tons of experience Trust me! You shouldn't miss my tour. My Seville. Steeped in history! And in colour! Plaza de España in front of you, like an embracing rainbow, the very same porticoes which welcomed Peter O' Toole as Lawrence; the British Headquarters in Cairo? No. My Seville is wealthy in wide open spaces as well as in broad pedestrian streets flanked by the most colourful state and private buildings. I will take you to the old TOBACCO FACTORY, today university, setting of the famous Opera Carmen, graceful fountains and impressive monuments we admire on our way, streets full of light. And do enjoy the sun because from here we shall enter the ancient Moorish and Jewish quarters, travelling in time into the Middle Ages; a maze of narrow whitewashed streets where the sun is kept at bay, but most cheerful in their flowered patios, carnations hanging from wrought iron balconies and beautiful tilewortk in the facades and entrance halls. Alleyways leading to cosy, peaceful orange-treed squares. Are we in the middle of a small quiet village?, but suddenly bending.
We visit the exteriors of these sites: - Plaza de España - Old Tobacco Factory - Santa Cruz district - explanation inside the Cathedral - Explanation outside of the Royal Palace Alcazar - The tour finish by the Archivo de Indias This is a suggested itinerary, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly.
