Nice to meet you! My name is Manu and I am architect, licenced guide and master degree in historical construction techniques. I love showing the cities where I work and live with architecture and arts focused tours. I am passionate about Granada, Málaga, Cordoba, the Alhambra palatine city, Seville and the whole Andalusian region. I studied my architecture degree and master in Granada, and during my degree I traveled all around the andalusian region and worked as photography teacher and editor in an arts and architecture international magazine. When I finished I lived for half a year in Yokohama in Japan, where I could study the traditional construction techniques of the country and the culture. Lately, I worked as architect for the university of Castilla La Mancha, doing some restoration projects and new buildings in cities with a wonderful heritage, such as Toledo. During this period I did an extra master course in traditional construction techniques in the Architecture School of Madrid, specializing in Islamic construction techniques and in buildings I knew, such as the Alhambra. Since 2013 I started publishing and speaking in national and international conferences, so in 2018 I applied for obtaining my official guiding license, and finally decided to start working on my own architecture studio So nowadays I work as guide and architect, running my own projects which include restoration, refurbishments and new constructions, collaborating with national and international studios while I also enjoy doing routes and meeting people from all around the world. My tours, in English and Spanish, mainly focus on the configuration of the cities, neighborhoods and buildings through analyzing their history and architecture. I do deep-cultural walking tours in Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, Guadix and Málaga with visual resources, for people that wants to get deeper in knowledge with an academical basis. I also focus my tours in particular buildings or construction techniques, but if you are interested in a particular period, character, architect, feel free to ask! I always like to enrich my tours with literature, music, and gastronomy recommendations, considering travelling as an holistic experience, for deeply enjoying the wonderful cities in Andalucia. So if you come to the south of Spain and you want to build a unique journey, contact me! CREDENTIALS - Msc. Overview of your Seville tour

Seville is one of the most important cities of Spain, and even during some moments in history, one of the most important cities of the world. Are you ready to discover the differences of the heritage that Tartesians, Romans, Umayyads, Almohads, Castilians and Spaniards left among the ancient walls of this city with almost three thousand years of history? With this tour we will see the main highlights of the main Palaces built along time: We will start with the Reales Alcázares, the oldest palace under use in Europe and an amazing construction palimpsest. Then the Palace of the Countess of Lebrija, a XVI century palace bought by one of the first archeologist in Sevilla and transformed into a wonderful collection. And finally we will see Pilatos House, one of the first urban nobility palaces with the best collection of tileworks in the city of Sevilla.

We had the most wonderful tour with Manuel. We give him the highest recommendation possible. Manuel was so knowledgeable, delightful and well prepared. Three hours went by fast with absolute enjoyment, even in the Seville heat. He kept my teen’s interest as well with his insightful and always engaging tour. We felt so grateful to have this experience, made memorable by his storytelling and personalization to our interests. We were so glad we did his tour; it was a definite highlight of our trip.

Manu gave us a tour of the Alcazar that had tremendous depth due to his sweeping knowledge of history and culture, as well as architecture. His passion for his subject matter is relentless. Manu oriented us with a geopolitical overview of history, so that we could understand the layers of history, using maps on his tablet. He also did illustrations on his tablet to explain architectural concepts. His entertained us with stories about the palaces and their histories as only a local can do. Manu is deeply knowledgeable about ancient civilizations, and his insights make for an outstanding tour. This was the perfect first day in Seville.

This was a fantastic tour and the second time we have had Manu to guide us. The palaces are all phenomenal (including a very special and less well known castle housing many relics from Italica) . Manu’s knowledge of history, architecture and culture is amazing. He blends many fascinating stories together with great historical detail giving a sense of the incredible breadth of Spanish history. He clearly loves his subject matter which kept us all engaged and wanting to know more (even our 3 teenagers!). The two tours - one of the Alhambra/Albaicin and one of the palaces of Seville were highlights of our Spanish trip! Highly recommend!

Really excellent experience with Manu! To see the Alcazar and noble residences with an architect who is so knowledgeable about Spanish history brought a wonderful new level of understanding and appreciation. Manu was quite enthusiastic, and his excitement about the architecture and history of Seville was infectious. A very delightful time; he also very kindly took into account our age and minor limitations, and so stopped for breaks at the perfect times. Highly recommended.
