As a historian I like to show the monuments of the city but I especially enjoy talking about our local culture. This is Sevilla, so we can talk about soccer, tapas, processions, flamenco, and of course, our wines! I like to visit places that normally are not included in the traditional visitor's circuit. Let me take you to the charming market of Feria Street, a cloister convent where to eat a sweet. The views from the other side of the river are beautiful, specially if you go during the "blue hour". I love to travel all the time. I have been in UK, France, Italy, Egypt, Frech Polynesia, India, Madison Wisconsin, New York City, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Croatia, Portugal, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Cerdeña, Córcega, Sicily, Ireland, Canada, . . . I got married in 2006 and have two beautiful princesses, Elsa (2012) and Emma (2017). History and music are an important part of my life. I am lucky to live in Sevilla but really lucky because my job it is to show you not only the monuments , the gastronomy but specially the soul of Sevilla. Forget about the time, we need no maps, just enjoy as we are in Sevilla! History degree (1993-1998) Official licensed guide since 2001. Manager of a tourist company since 1999. Writer of the book "Semana Santa in Sevilla" (2001)

If you are ready to fall in love with Sevilla, this is my proposal. This is a walk starting in the old city where we will discover old buildings so special but located out of the touristic routes. Not only moorish or romantic arquitecture but also charming patios waiting for lost travellers. There are many old houses where we can enter and enjoy the beautiful patios, follow me, I know a few of them and we can go in free. There is nothing like a good legend, an eternal character and a place where we will be surrounded by beautiful tiles, andalusian balconies and of course, the pleasant smelling flowers. Let me discover with you the story behind Cervantes, Velazquez, Don Giovanni or the emperor Carlos V . All of them lived in Sevilla and left so many curiosities never told by the traditional History.

Jose led a fantastic private tour of Seville for our small party of three. He showed us all around the historic quarters and took us to places "off the beaten path." He was knowledgeable, professional, personable, and a great communicator. We learned a lot, had fun, and saw areas of the city that we would have otherwise missed. It was a great way to explore the city with a local guide who knew it well. Highly recommend!
We could not have asked for a better introduction to the beautiful city of Seville. Our seven travelers fell in love with José Alfonso just as we did Seville. His knowledge of the history and culture was expansive and thoroughly explained every question we had. His communication skills revealed his English fluency, and included a lot of humor, which we enjoyed tremendously, making this walk more like a walk with a friend than a teacher. He took a recent injury to one of our group requiring her use of a scooter completely in stride, making adjustments to how we managed our time with him. In short, I feel certain he is a star in the crown of superior tour guides for tours by local. He was outstanding, and we were so very grateful to have had him!
Jose was waiting for us as we exited our ship. We walked through the beautiful Maria Luisa Park on our way to Plaza de Espana. Jose described the history and meaning of this ‘must see’ site Next we wandered through the old Jewish neighborhood. Charming narrow streets. A lot of history. He even took us to an underground parking garage where we could see the archaeological findings of an old cemetery. We learned about the opera culture and how Sevilla is the heart. Jose provided suggestions for places to eat. Absolutely fantastic! We were the only non-locals. An absolutely wonderful day! I would highly recommend José Alfonzo as your guide in Sevilla!
José was fantastic. He was so warm, friendly and informative. He took us on a lovely gentle walk around to show us the Seville he so obviously loves. We got a wonderful feel for the city, and went back to check out his recommendations.
Perfect tour. Seville is beautiful and fascinating, and Jose is a native who knows and loves everything about it. His English is excellent, and he gives clear, enlightening explanations and comments. He has a charming personality and a delightful sense of humor. He was careful and thoughtful about helping me deal with my physical limitations. Our entire group loved him.
-After picking you up at your place we will visit the old jewish section where we can enjoy patios and beautiful plazas. -After that, we will leave the touristic area behind to get to the old city, a place charge of History. -Let me show you the real "old jewish section" , just a residential area without souvenir shops or restaurants. -In fact, let's see from outside two old sinagoges that were transformed in churches in old days. -Then, time to take you to see the oldest patio and minaret of a mosque in Sevilla, dated in the 900's. Yes, amazing. -The idea would be to end this tour at Plaza de España, one of the hightlights of Sevilla. I will finish the tour in this iconic plaza, a must for a traveller and the perfect place to say goodbye. I would pay the tickets of the tram for you, and you can come back later walking. It is only 10 minutes walking from the center. *Do not forget your camera, I am a photographer too and we will enjoy so many special views that I like to call them postcards.
