I highly recommend asking for Lorena and taking this most spectacular tour of Seville Spain! Truly, this place stole our heart; and Lorena made the history and the architecture all come together painting a clear picture story. Our best tour of Spain and already I can’t wait to go back and do more!!!
Seville is a wonderful place to visit, full stop. It’s a vibrant town replete with all kinds of history, architecture, and culture. Not to mention the food, the people, and their traditions. A family with small children can go to Seville and simply enjoy an urban space that offers something for everyone. All that to say that you can visit it and enjoy it on the surface. However, its true value is in its ability to capture the imagination, and provide a tangible, accessible experience that will enrich your understanding of human history for the last 1500 years. By all means, visit Seville for the sights, but there’s so much to learn and consider for the rest of us who are trying to understand the human story deep into the past to get a sense of why we are where we are now, and, just as importantly, where are we headed.
We visited Seville and Granada because these two cities continue to “speak” to each other about the rich history that links Spain to the early “Muslim World” and eventually to the “New World”. We wanted our 15 yo to get a sense of the people and the historical forces that form these places to this day.
We find that there’s no better way to access a little of the history and culture of a place than with the aid of a local guide who can link it all up with sensitivity, inquisitiveness, humour, and ability to adapt a tour to her clients’ needs.
Lorena is gregarious, knowledgeable, and proud of her city’s historical and cultural significance. She knows the sites like the back of her hand, and seemed to know every gatekeeper personally. We enjoyed our tour with her, learned a lot, and would recommend her to anyone looking for a safe pair of hands, who knows the sites and history to go with it. Thank you, Lorena!
Lorena was an amazing guide! She was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. She molded the tour to the things we wanted to see. We enjoyed our tour very much, and we highly recommend her.
We’ve not had a better guide than Lorena. Extremely knowlegeable in history, eras and building methods, showing us details in the creation of the tiles, woodworking, stained glass and painting. She had photographs as well as images of the former architecture quickly on her phone to demonstrate to us. As we were with Lorena over Semana Santa, she shared cultural background and the “how to” of carrying the Passos , the meaning of the clothing , and how the Brotherhoods work.Lorena contacted us to arrange our private transportation and gave us tips on authentic restaurants; very important! She expresses herself extraordinarily well and has a delightful laugh!
