Kaixo! Hello! I'm a lucky guy born and bred in San Sebastian. I feel massively passionate about my city and I'll never lose my enthusiasm for exploring the Basque country and having the chance to share my favourite parts with you. The Basque Country is so special with it's unique food & wine scene. It's a huge part of my life with an ongoing interest & study of wines and I've been a member of one of the famous cooking societies for the last 20 years . Living here it's impossible to escape the rich culinary culture. The Great Outdoors is my other passion and as famous as San Sebastian is for the food the countryside and mountains are not to be overlooked. With a hugely unique and wide variety of hikes and trails. From coastal tracks, incredible old woodland and striking peaks. I'm extremely well travelled and have a fantastic understanding of how it is to be a tourist here and what makes a tour that extra special. Originally from a corporate background I know the right kind of professional and execute a high standard of tour on all levels. Maintaining a fun, friendly and relaxed vibe with one goal, that you have a fantastic, memorable day out. Since 2016 I have loved being a tour guide and look forward to more adventures, Hope to see you in San Sebastian very soon. We'll take you on an adventure to explore Getaria, Gernika, Zumaia, Urdaibai and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe each with unique history, where the highs and lows of the tide run deep through the culture of these must see spots. Then we'll leave the coast behind for a whistle stop tour of lively Bilbao renowned for its architecture and of course the Guggenheim museum. If there's something special on your "to do" list just let us know and we'll try our best to include it.
I'll pick you up at your accomodation in San Sebastian and drive 30 minutes to the first stop, Getaria, a little coastal village but famous for many things, as txakoli (local white wine), Elkano (first person to circunnavigate around the globe), grilled fish, designer Balenciaga. . . Few minutes drive will bring us to Zumaia, paradise of surfers and scenary of Game of Thrones. We will leave the coast to drive west inland to Gernika, the town that inspired it's namesake. From here we will head to Urdaibai estuary and stop in Mundaka town to have a snack, stunning views from is lookout. Following the windy coastal road we will get to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (as well known as Dragon Stone in Game of Thrones), a tiny little island linked to mainland by some crazy steps. From here we will drive 40 minutes to Bilbao, where we will visit the old town, having the chance to have some pintxos before heading to the Guggenheim museum. After the visit we will return to San San Sebastian, around one hour drive.
