San Sebastian Day Trip: French-Basque Countryside Private tour

Iker suggested we change our tour day so we could visit the local food market during our day trip into the French Basque County. A phone call and a message to us and it was all sorted! He picked us up and we spent a great time wandering at the markets sampling the produce and making a few purchases. We then spent the afternoon touring through beautiful countryside and exploring pretty villages. What a great day! Iker was polite and considerate, nothing was rushed and he was flexible to our needs. We especially enjoyed talking to Iker and learning about life in Basque Country. The French basque countryside tour has amazing views and sites to see. We had booked Iker to tour us, unfortunately he had some transportation issues; but he was able to schedule us with another guide, Martin.

This was our third San Sebastian area tour with the same guide, Iker, and again it was a unique and wonderful experience. Who would not like a dinner at a private gastronomic club with our own chef to prepare Basque foods! We had an isolated table with a great view and fabulous food and wine, also sampling local cider along the way. This after a one hour walk through the old town and lots of recommendations for Pintxos and dinners and shopping for the next couple of days.

Iker is an excellent/outstanding guide: deeply knowledgeable of history, culture & customs of Basque Spain/France. His insights provide a true taste of Basque life. We learned/experienced lots during our custom day tour w/Iker. Depth & breadth of his knowledge truly made the tour a gem! Iker has a love of life; and truly enjoys it! He is a true foodie. We have traveled extensively and the day with Iker was one of our best. He is a wealth of knowledge and very interested in what we want to do. We only booked one day with him...our mistake. We hope we get to spend more time with him on our next trip.
