Hello and welcome to Malaga! I’m Elena, an architect and tour guide, and I’d love to show you my city from a fresh perspective. After completing my university studies, I had the privilege of working with some of Málaga’s most prestigious architectural firms, contributing to building design and urban renewal projects. These experiences have given me profound insight into the city and its people. There’s nothing I enjoy more than sharing the richness of our monuments and streets, along with the historical context that shaped them. To bring history to life, I use graphic information and sketches that I create on-site—an approach you’re sure to love! In addition to my passion for architecture, I’m a food and wine enthusiast. I offer tours that combine Málaga’s history and culture with the story of its wines and rich gastronomy. If this immersive way of exploring a destination appeals to you, I can design a one-of-a-kind experience that blends architecture, history, and culinary delights, letting you savor Málaga with all your senses. And let’s not forget the broader beauty of Andalucía—a region full of captivating stories, breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cities, and charming villages. If you have a few extra days, why not explore and see why so many people from around the globe fall in love with this magical place? Let’s discover Andalucía together! Andalusia is unlike anywhere else. The landscapes are breathtaking, the food is extraordinary, and the people are among the most welcoming you'll encounter anywhere. But what truly distinguishes this region is its history — and few chapters are as compelling as its Jewish heritage. If you've heard of Al-Andalus, Sefarad, or the Inquisition, this tour was made for you. We'll explore the most remarkable corners of the city — including some of its finest tapas bars for after the visit — and we'll dig into the genuine history of how three major Mediterranean faiths lived, built, clashed, and coexisted here over eight centuries. Walking through the city center, we'll trace the interwoven legacies of Christians, Muslims, and Jews, uncovering the complex relationships that shaped one of the most fascinating eras in the history of the Iberian Peninsula. No simplifications. No myths. Just the real story, told with honesty and depth.
I'll meet you at the cruise port or your hotel to begin our journey through this layered historical city. We'll visit the remarkable Arab Citadel, built as the official residence of the city's governor. We'll trace the footprints of the two ancient Jewish quarters and explore what daily life looked like for the Aljama — the Jewish community that flourished here. I'll guide you through the grand Cathedral, a monument to Christianity, and connect the threads of how these three religions interacted creating a unique culture across eight centuries — their key figures, turning points, and enduring relevance today. I'm glad to tailor the tour to your specific interests and questions.

We can meet in front of the Tourist Office in Plaza de la Marina, which is located right in the city center. It's located right across from the main entrance to the Port of Málaga and the shuttle bus drop-off point. If you would prefer to meet at the cruise ship port, we can take an Uber to the city center. The Uber fare is not included in the tour price. If your group is larger than three people, we can take the shuttle bus from your ship. In any case, I will hold a sign with your name.
