Hello! My name is Jose and I am in love with the city of Granada where I was born. Thank you for viewing my profile. I would love to be your eyes in this wonderful and captivating city. I graduated from the University of Granada in 2003 with a degree in Pedagogy. I am inclined to believe in the power of education to move the world. And the best way to teach something is through the game. According to my intention, I worked as a tourist entertainer at resorts and hotel for several years. It was an experience that changes me forever because I met people from different countries and they gave me their piece of truth. As a part of the programmed activities, I started to guide to the historical areas of towns and I realized that it was my real vocation. Consequently, I continued my studies in art, history, religion, nature, . . . and I certificated as an Official Guide of Tourism. If you do whatever you love time runs really fast and my 5 years in Granada as a local guide check it. Granada is plenty of monuments, picturesque places, and charming locations. Every step in Granada is a new sigh and you will be more haunted. Let me connect you with the magic of this city. Due to I am a local I have a lot of resources to plan personal tours and combine them with musical or gastronomic experiences. All my tours are private and they could be customized following your personal interests or ideas My clients usually describe me as an enthusiastic and passionate guide and I personally agree. On another hand, I consider myself an open-minded and tolerant person with a sense of humor and good communication skills. It will be a pleasure to show you the city that even the light loves! "What a big job Leave the light to Granada! It is entangled among the cypresses or hiding underwater" Federico García Lorca Degree in Pedagogy (University of Granada) Official License for guiding in Granada (GT-3692) Course of Tour Leader (Orientta-Granada) Language Credential in English (Official Language School in Granada) Expert in Tourist Entertainment (Hotel-School Bellamar. Granada was the capital of the last kingdom of Al-Andalus. I will explain you how the Islamic heritage is clearly recognized thanks to its architecture, traditions, gastronomy, . . . I will be also your key in the exotic and mysterious Alhambra. On another hand, I will show you how it would become a very important city for Christendom. To the point that the Catholic Monarchs chose it as the last resting place and ordered to build a magnificent Gothic temple for burial like is the Royal Chapel. There you will interpretate the glorious temple with its main altarpice, doorway, Renaissance crypt, museum with personal royal trousseau, . . . by the hand of an expert. On this tour, I propose to visit the amazing Alhambra and Generalife, the magnificent Royal Chapel and the labyrinthine streets of the foundational Albayzin neighborhood, that is considered World Heritage Site, with its typical houses ("Carmenes") and its viewpoints with overlooking. I will guide your senses through centuries of history in a Full Day
Jose was extremely helpful in understanding how we could visit the Alhambra on a busy Saturday. Without his help we would have missed the opportunity. He was extremely knowledgeable. He hired a wonderful driver to pick us up from the cruise port. We meet him in Granada. Very clear communication.
We had a great day with Jose Francisco. He arranged a driver to pick us up at the cruise port and deliver us to Alhambra. We had a wonderful tour of Granada and Alhambra. Jose Francisco is very knowledgeable and very willing to adjust and accommodate the tour to our needs. Highly recommend.
Our Alhambra adventure was amazing. Jose was a very knowledgeable and insightful guide giving us a full understanding of this very complex historical monument. Having tapas and a Sangria where the locals eat was an extra treat. Alfonso our driver did an excellent job getting us safely to and from. I highly recommend José!
Jose did a great job! He is very knowledgeable, interesting and caring. Getting to see beautiful Albayzin was a highlight, and walking the winding streets was a lot of fun. Of course, The Alhambra is amazing beyond words!
A visit to the Alhambra is a must. Jose was an exceptional guide. We had arrived in little delay due to a mixup as where to meet the driver. The ride to and from was comfortable and smooth. Alhambra was stunning. What a testament to a time long ago. We had to buy our own tickets and that can be a bit confusing but all was good. The palace is massive and some of party weren’t interested in walking to town so we got a cab. Once in town we went to the cathedrals. We were fortunate to have a beautiful day but there were many schools visiting too. Sometimes it was difficult for all of us to hear Jose. Jose very extremely knowledgeable about the history and importance of the Alhambra. He is a true local and very proud of his home.
A very detailed tour Jose showed us and explained in detail inscriptions in buildings and walls that we would never have realized what we were seeing. Great tour. Highly recommend. Jose was wonderful and his love for Alhambra and Granada is reflected in his tour
An ideal tour would be starting in the Alhambra and then visiting the city center. - Go trip from Malaga to Granada (1.5 hour) - Arrival at the parking of the Alhambra where I will meet you. - We will visit the impressive Alhambra (3h) with all its places such as: *Nazari palaces, *Alcazaba, *Medina, *Palace of Charles V and *The Gardens and Palace of the Generalife (3 hours) - Very peaceful walk downhill through the forest that surrounds the Alhambra (15 min) - Free time for lunch or shopping (1hour) In the second part of the tour (2h): - We will visit the surroundings of the Darro River and low Albayzin. Overlooking Alhambra from its viewpoints such as Saint Nicholas. - Visit highlights like the Royal Chapel, Cathedral, Madraza, the former Silk Market, New Mosque,... - Back trip to Malaga (1.5h) This is a suggested itinerary, please let me know and I can create a customized tour for you.
