Welcome to Granada! My name is Guillermo and I'm an Official Tour Guide in this unique town. After I finished my degree in Tourism in 2008, I worked in a couple of tourist information offices and also as a receptionist in three different hotels. But finally in 2013, I focused on my dream, to become to be a tour guide and I'm cheerful with my decision. Costumer-oriented work showing Granada's heritage is a privilege and a gift that I transmit with passion and dedication. Luckily, I was born and raised in Granada and I'm blessed to have my job where I've been living during my entire live. Concretely I've spent part of my childhood in the Albayzín and I think that's a huge advantage for me, because I've been learning how to guide in Granada because of my own experiences. After guiding for the last 12 years and collaborating with Tours By Locals since 2017, each tour that I can guide is a new opportunity to meet interesting people that decided to visit our lovely city. When I have some free time I love travelling abroad, visiting new countries, for the moment 38 and counting. In my opinion, to be a tour guide is much more than walking and talking, it's about sharing knowledge and experiences, if you really enjoy what you do, everything is easier, that's my philosophy. The Alhambra of Granada is considered to be the best preserved Muslim fortress of Europe, and one of the best of the world. It's a unique place, full of gardens and palaces, where it is possible to get lost in the history, the Middle Ages and also the Renaissance. An amazing combination of the Orient and Occident art in the last Islamic kingdom of the Iberian Peninsula. After this, let me take you to discover Granada, one of the most important cities in Europe during the Middle Ages, founded in 1013 by the Ziriids, and controlled for centuries by the Nasrids. Thousands of people living in a chosen place where Muslims, Jews and Christians used to coexist.

What an amazing Tour of Granada with Guillermo! His knowledge of the Alhambra was so in depth that we felt like we were living inside the walls with the Sultans. He was happy to tailor our tour to include time in the beautiful old city and introduce us to the new part of town as well. Since he grew up here, he knew all the little gems that we certainly would have missed without him. He arranged all the transport from our cruise terminal in Malaga and it was all seamless. Guillermo was a fantastic tour guide. Besides being totally fluent in English, he was very knowledgeable about the history of Granada and the Alhambra, and he shared with us so many fascinating details about both. In addition, he was very concerned about our safety and comfort, cautioning us when the pavement was uneven, choosing the flattest paths for us, and even keeping us from stepping in dog poop! He made sure that we got to the Alhambra on time and back to our boat on time. He was spectacular!
This tour was great!! Guillermo and our driver did everything possible to assure our tour was unforgettable, which it was. They modified the tour to accommodate our schedule. Guillermo was very knowledgeable and enjoyed introducing us to "his hometown." The site itself is unbelievable. The weather was good, even if a little cold (toured in winter). Recommend this tour and this guide highly.
Wow, what an awesome day spent with Guillermo in Granada. Truly an exceptional experience that we could not have had on our own. Not only does Guillermo live in Granada but he is intimately familiar with daily life and history of this wonderful city. He knows all the alleys, secret pathways, best photo sites.In addition to the Alhambra, we chose to see Granada highlights —His tour was thoughtfully planned to make the most of our day ending with a fabulous sunset overlooking Granada. - Early in the morning, a private driver will meet the visitors where they prefer. - Trip to Granada (around 1 hour and 45 minutes). - Alhambra visit (3 hours). - City Tour (1.5 hours). - Transport back to Málaga (around 1 hour and 45 minutes). The whole tour depends on the Alhambra tickets entry time (Visitors must buy the tickets in advance, I can tell you how). Basically, the tour includes two parts, one in the Alhambra and then, one in the city. Each visit will take around 2. 5 hours. Obviously, between both tours, I'll give you free time for having lunch (1 hour) don't hesitate to ask me about where to go for eating. This is a suggested itinerary, please let me know and I can create a customized tour for you.

- As you can read, a private driver will take you to Granada and then will return you to Málaga. - There's a minivan for a maximun of 6 people. - During most of the visit we'll walk, always from the upper point to the lower one, so downwards, in case we need to go up, we'll take a taxi and it will be useful to go from one monument to another during some parts of the tour.
