Toledo from Madrid- Day trip by High Speed Train

Toledo is an amazing city 50 miles away from Madrid, located in a fabulous position on the top of a hill and sourounded by the Tagus river and the Citywalls . We will need only 25 minutes by train to there. Once there and after a short ride by taxi around the city to have a great panoramic view we will start our walking tour to discover the most important monuments of the city, but also Toledo is full of hidden secrets that are typical in the medieval cities, narrow streets, charming little squares. . . and of course we will get to know the history of one of the most important cities of Spain, the City of the Three Cultures and even nowadays home to the Primate Cathedral of Spain, the most important Cathedral of the country and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. We will explore the christian, jewish and muslim neighborhoods and the most important monuments inside the city walls. We will have a break for lunch on your own. Later on we will come back to Madrid.

The itinerary is flexible depending on your personal interest that we can discuss before, but I will suggest that apart of strolling in the beautiful streets of the city we visit: The Cathedral of Toledo Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes Santo Tome Church , where the famus painting by El Greco is One of the Synagogues There are many other places that you may be interested and I am happy to include them on the walk. There is also the possibility of using a private van instead of the train, this is specially interesting if you are not confortable walking uphills or over coblestones. With the van we can get closer to some of the monuments but walking will be always necessary. If we come by train, you need to purchase your train tickets (mine is included in the price as well as my entrances fee). I can help you with that and you reimburse later. Like that after the tour if you want to stay longer on your own for shopping this is as well possible.
