Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. I am happy to say that I have done over 500 tours only with ToursByLocals during the last 9 years. This hasn't been my only job ever, I have been teaching languages since. . . always, as this is the family business, and I got to know the tourism industry since I was very young as it was my early passion. Hotels, airlines, tour director. . . All these experiences have made me a very versatile person, which helps a lot with my actual activity. Overview of your Madrid tour
After picking you up at the agreed meeting point, we'll start strolling through the maze of streets of Madrid OLD CITY making nice stops at its traditional squares, nice corners, and sites of interest, where we could have a coffee (or something else :-), to regain energy for the Prado Museum tour, the most magnificent collection of paintings of the world, where we'll get straight away, without the burden of queuing for tickets. The Prado is one of the top 10 museums in the world according to National Geographic, but the Number 1 Painting Collection according to the number of masterpieces exhibited. In this tour we'll focus mainly on the Spanish school of painting, the explanations will complete the Madrid tour and its understanding, putting faces to the names of Kings and other protagonists of our history. After the end of the tour you can choose to stay in the museum, the entrance fee is valid for all day. You can go in and out. Ask me how to do it!
Your Madrid tour itinerary
Pick up, and tour through the different squares in Madrid, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza de Oriente, and main streets in the Old City, Calle Mayor, Cuchilleros, and the famous Market, San Miguel. Prado Museum tour, focusing mainly in the Spanish School of Painting. Note that we can skip the ticket line, but security has increased in ALL world museums and we cannot skip that one. I will put everything in my hands to give you the best experience. For large groups (over 7 participants), please ask for conditions DUE TO CHANGES IN MUSEUM POLICY, THE TOUR WILL BE CANCELLED IF THERE ARE NO AVAILABLE ONLINE TICKETS.
