Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. Overview of your Madrid tour
The city of Madrid now forms part of UNESCO's World Heritage list. Following Spain's submission in 2019 of its nomination 'Paseo del Prado and El Retiro Park, Landscape of Arts and Science, UNESCO has now granted world heritage status to Madrid's Paseo del Prado and El Retiro Park. In this extraordinary site that boasts "outstanding universal value" culture, science and nature have coalesced since the mid-16th century. The Landscape of Light is the first site in the city of Madrid to have been granted World Heritage status, and the fifth in the Region of Madrid, ask me about the other four! After the walk, we'll visit one of the most important art collections in the world, the Prado Museum, with your skip-the-line tickets. This is a great tour, I just love walking through Retiro Park, always nice, quiet from Monday to Friday, very lively on weekends, where many Madrid citizens go to spend the day, any time of the year.
