Welcome to all, I am native from Madrid, born in Manresa, family from Asturias, northern Spain and raised in Madrid, since early age I was interested in the arts and history of my city and my country. As time went by I started specializing in the culture of my beloved Madrid where I have been guiding for almost 10 years now! I have special interest in nineteenth century history and Spanish art and I am a great fan of Francisco de Goya, one of the masters one can find in Madrid. As a professional and as the local who grew up in Madrid, I can vouch that neither as an art center no as a social hot spot Madrid would ever let you down. Here you will encounter genuine people and a life of smiles that goes well with tapas and wine. I welcome you all to join me on a walk of the city where we could get the feeling of those people, of the city, the arts and history. As a guide I really care to accommodate to the needs of visitors, I enjoy making your experience entertaining never leaving professionalism aside. My priority is to ensure that people get the most out of their tour and that they get to understand Madrid and end up loving it. What is Madrid for me? It is a way of life, is its streets, is happiness, Madrid is myself! What can you take home from Madrid? You will take from Madrid great memories, amazing flavors, you will get and unforgettable experience and in the end Madrid will take your heart! -Bachelor Degree in Art History from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid -Started doctorate courses in U.A.M of which I finalize two years, main subject is Death Penalty in the figurative art of the Ninnetenth Century in Spain. Doctorate is as for now on hold, to be continued.... -More than 16 years experience as a guide -Official Licenced Guide of Madrid and Aragón -Official Guide of National Heritage -Licensed on Toledo's Cathedral and Toledo Monumental sights

A gentle walk through the gorgeous Retiro Park of Madrid, lungs of our city and the icon of so many madrileños! This is not a simple park, this is a place which contains the spirit of Madrid and that has preserved it over centuries. The park is special in many ways and you'll be surprised by the variety of sights and environments. We will walk around it exploring some of its monuments, history surrounded by trees and colorful flowers! You'll see the oldest tree in Madrid, the parts where nobles used to party and the place of peace and "good rest" in a hot summer afternoon for modern madrileños and visitors like you! This tour is unique because in goes in depth into the gardens, showing the visitors some of the areas there are rare to normally visit with a guide, I had spent years from youth (first flirting days, picnics with friends) to professional days withing this emblem of Madrid, and if you are into great gardens, nature and history this tour is definitively for you!

I have travelled the world and not spared in securing the best of guides in different settings. Hands down, Enrique is one of the few guides I would call stellar. His exceptional & contagious love & knowledge of his culture and of Spanish history are bound to leave a traveller with a sense of belonging & understanding. He epitomizes world class hospitality. In this case, fewer words are best in describing his amazing style. I only hope I'll have a chance to learn from him again. Do NOT miss this tour!
We had a great walking tour with Enrique this morning. He arrived early to collect us at our apartment in the El Rastro section. As we walked would our way to Retiro, he pointed out museums, restaurants, and other places and why they were worth a visit. He also told us why certain streets were named as they as they were. He provided us with the history of the city and the Park. After the tour we walked with him to the city center where he recommended a great place for lunch. Great tour.
The walking itinerary includes: -Plaza de la Cibeles (Walk around, history, photos) -Plaza de la Independencia (Architecture, History, Photos) -Parque del Retiro (Walk around and visit highlights, get to know its history) -Museo del Prado (on the outside) * Itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do no hesitate to contact me for a customized tour
