Hola. Mi name is Alfonso. I am a passionate 32 years old guide from Madrid. I have been guiding for almost 7 years all over Spain and Portugal , giving different kinds of tours as both a local guide and tour leader. I have studied business and tourism and I have been professional athlete. WHY AM I GUIDING? Since I was a kid I have always loved knowing new places. I enjoy improvising within those new cities and discovering new places along the way. I am curious about everything. I consider myself to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, good listener, deep and open minded person. I am a people person. I love getting to know new people and learning from them. I love to travel anywhere and anyway. I have lived in Germany and I have worked and studied abroad in many different locations. When I had a surgery on my hip I had to stop playing sports and start from scratch. I began thinking "what do I like and what do I do well?". My friends would always ask me things like: Where should we go for dinner? Would you come with me to the Prado Museum ? Alfonso, How do we get to this place or that? I have always been interested in history, gastronomy and art : the roots of any place culture. The way we the humans interact with the environment. When thinking about my hobbies and these facts about myself I decided that guiding could be something that could appeal to me. Luckily for me, it worked out. Being a tour-guide is a lot being like a student. I am always studying new things, preparing new activities for the tours and learning from people I meet. I started guiding in the tricky city centre of Madrid and afterwords in other cities, museums, palaces etc. In my tours I love to show the real deal of the places we visit, to have local experiences and if possible to interact with locals. I don't like to ignore controversial topics. To go often off the beaten truck. I invite you to do a tour with me , I would be more than happy showing you my city. Join me in this 4 h experience including Prado Museum and "Madrid de los Austrias" Quarter. First of all Prado has the most complete Spanish Art collections from the 11th to the 19th century. I also houses numerous masterpieces by great universal artists such as El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Bosch or Titian. The quality and variety of its collection makes the Prado one of the world's best-endowed museums in the world. On the second act of the experience we will rock the oldest part of Madrid known as Madrid de los Austrias. It combines the majestic Royal Palace with the popular atmosphere of Plaza Mayor and its surroundings. It hosts some of the places that can not be missed when one comes to Madrid. Mr. Munoz was a fantastic guide for our family. He is knowledgeable, intuitive and fully aware of his clients and visitors. We enjoyed our time with Mr. Munoz immensely.
Alfonso has far exceeded my expectations!! He is knowledgeable, friendly and fun!! His tour was definitely the highlight of my visit to Madrid. Following this tour, I wanted to book him for a day long tour to Toledo (for more Greco!) but, alas, he was booked up. Next time!!
I highly recommend Alfonso for a tour. He directed us through the Prado using carefully selected works by major artists to lead us through time historically, culturally and religiously. In walking from the Prado to the Royal Palace, Alfonso steered us through neighborhoods and down streets exposing us to Madrid's history, culture and religion. His tour was fun and he was easy to understand.

During this tour we will walk Carrera de San Jerónimo, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa and we will finish opposite to the Royal Palace.
