Hola! My name is Lola, one of the most truly Spanish names, and so am I, totally Spanish. I was raised in Madrid, and I discovered the magic of this city since I was a child. Some of my first memories took place in Madrid, I remember to walk in the Retiro Park and think that The Glass Palace was a fairy palace. To visit the Prado Museum with my parents when I was the same age than the little princess of Las Meninas. There has been always something exciting in Madrid for me. When I grow up, I discovered many other countries and cities travelling around the world, but MY FIRST TRUE LOVE WAS MADRID. Later, when I went to the university, I decided to study what I really liked the most, History, and I did my specialization in Art History. I was also studying a Postgraduate in History abroad, in the University of Nottingham, England, that was one of the best experiences of my life. After finishing my degree, I started to work as a Tour Director all over the world. I spent 20 years travelling and working in many countries of Europe, Asia and USA, learning other cultures, and having exciting experiences, but … I was missing my hometown; I was missing Madrid. So, I decided to start working as a local guide in Madrid and make people like you, dear traveler, to discover the city through my eyes. I am a passionate storyteller and I love to inform and entertain always with historical rigor. My humanities background and my passion for history an art enable me to communicate information in a very inspiring way. My desire is to pass all this to you so you can have the greatest trip ever. I live in Madrid old city center, and I know our bars and taverns. Lola was a wonderful choice for our tapas crawl. First, I accidentally scheduled our crawl for a date when we would still be on our cross Atlantic cruise. Lola was very understanding and rescheduled for the correct date. I scheduled this tour on our last nite in Spain and many of us were "tapa out" by then. Lola was nimble enough to bring us to local tapa bars that offered us options that we did not already consume, multiple times in multiple other bars. I highly recommend Lola.

It was a super fun evening with my guide Lola who turned out to be informative, knowledgable and also very flexible in her plans. What started out as a tapas and food tour turned also into an extraordinary journey into the various local quarters emanating out of the Plaza Mayor - each with its own stories and histories - delicately etched out by Lola. All this as we sampled amazing tapas items and special drinks at some iconic taverns. For food and wine enthusiasts this is a must try over 2-3 hours.

Lola was very fun(great personality), very informative and knowledgeable and shared with us some inside local knowledge that we would of never gotten to experience on our own. The rate seemed a little high to us with it only being the two of us and that we still had to pay for all our tapas and wine along the way. All in all though, we enjoyed our time with her very very much.
