Built in the 18th century by the Bourbon dynasty, it is Western Europe's largest royal palace, nearly double the size of Buckingham Palace in London or the Palace of Versailles in Paris. Home to the Kings of Spain from Charles III to Alfonso XIII, Madrid's Royal Palace takes us on an enjoyable journey through the history of Spain. Though it is no longer the royal family's home, it continues to be their official residence. The Royal Palace is one of the top tourist attractions in Madrid. During the route inside the palace we will enjoy the highlights. it's a historic and architectural wonder that's well worth visiting!
The palace comprises over 3, 418 rooms, (don't worry, we are not going to visit all of them :)) including: the Main Staircase, designed by Sabatini; the Throne Hall featuring a ceiling painted by Tiepolo; the Gasparini Room, with its grand 18th century decoration on a floral theme and the Royal Chapel, which is home to a collection of string instruments made by the legendary Antonio Stradivari. The visit to the palace will take us about 1h and a half.
