Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. I am happy to say that I have done over 500 tours only with ToursByLocals during the last 9 years. This hasn't been my only job ever, I have been teaching languages since. . . always, as this is the family business, and I got to know the tourism industry since I was very young as it was my early passion. Hotels, airlines, tour director. . . All these experiences have made me a very versatile person, which helps a lot with my actual activity. For six years I have been the Chairman of the Madrid Tourist Guide Association, which shows my compromise with and faith in this profession which I find absolutely wonderful, as it is so to be able to share with my guests, my friends, all the magnificent heritage that surrounds me. I find so much satisfaction in seeing how you are delighted with your holiday choice that it encourages me, even more, to make more and more research to share it all with you. I have fun doing what I do as a living and that is the reason why you will have fun too. Who says that museums or history are boring? Our museums in Madrid hide so many treasures that you will long to come back as soon as possible to continue getting to know them. . . with me!? That would be fantastic. SEGOVIA The city of Spain where Isabel, was proclaimed Queen of the Kingdom of Castile. That was a turning point in the history of not just Spain. The panoramic view of the castle which was one of the favorite residences of her family will be one of the highlights of the day together with the symbol of the city, the 2000 years old Roman aqueduct. EL ESCORIAL In the year 1563, this project of Philip II started to see the light under the southern slope of the wonderful mountains of Guadarrama, in the north of the Madrid region. 20 years later, the biggest Catholic Monastery is finished and up to our day, it is still used as the burial pantheon of the Spanish Royal family. Architecture is used as a symbol of power in the XVI and the XX century alike, speaking of which, we'll visit
