Hola. Mi name is Alfonso. I am a passionate 32 years old guide from Madrid. I have been guiding for almost 7 years all over Spain and Portugal , giving different kinds of tours as both a local guide and tour leader. I have studied business and tourism and I have been professional athlete. WHY AM I GUIDING? Since I was a kid I have always loved knowing new places. I enjoy improvising within those new cities and discovering new places along the way. I am curious about everything. I consider myself to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, good listener, deep and open minded person. I am a people person. I love getting to know new people and learning from them. I love to travel anywhere and anyway. I have lived in Germany and I have worked and studied abroad in many different locations. When I had a surgery on my hip I had to stop playing sports and start from scratch. I began thinking "what do I like and what do I do well?". My friends would always ask me things like: Where should we go for dinner? Would you come with me to the Prado Museum ? Alfonso, How do we get to this place or that? I have always been interested in history, gastronomy and art : the roots of any place culture. The way we the humans interact with the environment. When thinking about my hobbies and these facts about myself I decided that guiding could be something that could appeal to me. Luckily for me, it worked out. Being a tour-guide is a lot being like a student. I am always studying new things, preparing new activities for the tours and learning from people I meet. I started guiding in the tricky city centre of Madrid and afterwords in other cities, museums, palaces etc. In my tours I love to show the real deal of the places we visit, to have local experiences and if possible to interact with locals. I don't like to ignore controversial topics. To go often off the beaten truck. I invite you to do a tour with me , I would be more than happy showing you my city. This unique experience combines two guided tours in two of the places we Madrileños are most proud of. These are true treasures of Madrid—spaces where many people, myself included, first discovered a deep passion for art and history: the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum. On the one hand, the Royal Palace of Madrid awaits us with its overwhelming splendor. More than 3,000 rooms, over 300 types of marble, extraordinary tapestries and frescoes, Stradivarius instruments, silk and countless other luxuries. On the other hand, the Prado Museum invites us to explore the masterpieces of Velázquez, Goya, Bosch, Rubens, Titian, and many more. We will follow a chronological journey through some of the most important works in the history of Western art, understanding their context and meaning. P.S. If you wish, we can shorten the time spent at each venue to include a guided walking tour in between, allowing us to explore Madrid’s streets and atmosphere while connecting both experiences.

Our private tour with Alfonso was amazing! The day before our tour Alfonso reached out to me to confirm our meeting point and time. We toured the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum. We learned a lot from Alfonso, from the different rulers of Spain to the great art collections at the Prado Museum. Alfonso made the tour interesting and pointed out things that we would have never known about without him. We would highly recommend using Alfonso when visiting Spain.
