What's modern art? The exact definition is still under discussion, but in a practical way, we can consider it as all the artistic movements that arose since the end of the 19th c. I'll help you to understand this art sometimes strange and difficult to appreciate: I take the challenge of making it possible under my passionate guide! I love art in general, specially paintings: they hide so many stories and meanings, I can't wait to unravel for you! And I want also to show you my city through my local eyes, so you experience it as a real madrileño. On this tour we'll combine the visit to the Reina Sofía museum with a walking tour along the Madrid of the Bourbons (18th & 19th c. ) : that area is since July 2021 WHS Unesco! The Reina Sofía focuses on the Spanish art of the first half of the 20th c. . It is a museum where art and politics join together. You'll see the most famous war painting of the 20th c. , considered as a world-wide anti-war icon. The surrealistic movement is also a museum's "strong point".

- Reina Sofía museum ( CLOSED ON TUESDAYS). We will see the highlights. The masterpiece is the Picasso's painting GUERNICA, but the museum has got also excellent works by Dalí and Miró.
