Hola! My name is Carmen M, I was born and raised in Madrid and I am working as a guide since 2003 (I do not even want to think how long this is!) I got my license as Oficial Guide of Madrid in 2017. I started working as a guide when I was in college, I am a licensed Architect so I always loved art, culture. . . and as you will see also love talking to people, food, nature, so even before I finished my studies I knew what I wanted to do when I get older, and this was to show people around not only the big monuments or masterpieces but also those special details that makes our city Madrid and the ones around so special. No matter how many times I visit those places I am always fascitated. My first contact with the world of tourism was as a Tour Director, I traveled to many places all over the world, and I always loved the local guides who were explaining about their cities, and I even although I love traveling and meeting new places after some years doing that job I decided I wanted to stay closer to family, friends. . . and show my own world to the people visiting us. Madrid has so much to offer you should think about staying longer (no matter how long you plan to stay)! I also enjoy Nature very much, specially the mountains, great views, silence, fresh air. . . and we are lucky Madrid is a very green city and with beautiful Natural Parks very close to the center. Segovia is one of the most charming cities in Castilla. After such a long history it is fascinating to discover it little by little. . . . from de Roman Acueduct to the Medieval Cathedral, the jewish quarter or the overwhelming Alcazar (Royal Fortress). More than 2000 years of history and surrounded by the beautifil mountains that separate Castilla y Leon from the region of Madrid make this an unforgetable day trip from Madrid. And we can nor forget about gastronomy. The landscapes we will see on the way to Segovia are home of many different cattle and animals. The speciality of the region. . . . the tasty suckling pig, a must try!!
Our trip to Segovia with Carmen was great. We met her at the Chamartin train station and she bought our tickets in advance. The high speed train to Segovia was clean, quiet and smooth and delivered us in 30 minutes. The Roman aqueduct was awesome and Carmen did a great job of taking us thru the rest of the city. It was all too wonderful. Book her if you can!!
This tour was excellent. Carmen is a great tour guide who knows her history, knows Spain, and knows Segovia inside and out. I highly recomend her as a tour guide in general.
Carmen gave us an excellent tour of Segovia. She shared her wealth of knowledge of this historic city in the context of 21st Century Spain.
Carmen is probably the best guide in visiting Segovia. She is very informative, patient and very flexible in adjusting to our interests and needs. She booked a restaurant for us which served a very good cochinillo and had the best service. The visit to the Alcazar is memorable. We had a well spent day when we decided visiting only Segovia and not include any other places to visit. I highly recommend Carmen.
It is completely flexible as it will be only for you. I will pick you up in your hotel and we will take a taxi to the train station for the AVE (High Speed Train), both taxi and train are not included in the price but I will assist you to buy the tickets. I can buy and you reimburse later (I will get my own). In 30 minutes we will be in Segovia and we will need again a taxi to the Acueduct, from there we will walk all the way. We will see - Roman Acueduct -Cervantes Street -Jewish Quarter -Plaza Mayor -Cathedral -Alcazar -Many other sites. During the visit we will get some free time for lunch and some shopping before coming back to Madrid by train.
