Hola. Mi name is Alfonso. I am a passionate 32 years old guide from Madrid. I have been guiding for almost 7 years all over Spain and Portugal , giving different kinds of tours as both a local guide and tour leader. I have studied business and tourism and I have been professional athlete. WHY AM I GUIDING? Since I was a kid I have always loved knowing new places. I enjoy improvising within those new cities and discovering new places along the way. I am curious about everything. I consider myself to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, good listener, deep and open minded person. I am a people person. I love getting to know new people and learning from them. I love to travel anywhere and anyway. I have lived in Germany and I have worked and studied abroad in many different locations. When I had a surgery on my hip I had to stop playing sports and start from scratch. I began thinking "what do I like and what do I do well?". My friends would always ask me things like: Where should we go for dinner? Would you come with me to the Prado Museum ? Alfonso, How do we get to this place or that? I have always been interested in history, gastronomy and art : the roots of any place culture. The way we the humans interact with the environment. When thinking about my hobbies and these facts about myself I decided that guiding could be something that could appeal to me. Luckily for me, it worked out. Being a tour-guide is a lot being like a student. I am always studying new things, preparing new activities for the tours and learning from people I meet. I started guiding in the tricky city centre of Madrid and afterwords in other cities, museums, palaces etc. In my tours I love to show the real deal of the places we visit, to have local experiences and if possible to interact with locals. I don't like to ignore controversial topics. To go often off the beaten truck. I invite you to do a tour with me , I would be more than happy showing you my city. Did you know that the Madrid wine region produces one of the best wines in Spain? Do you like wine, history, countryside, rural areas and off the beaten track plans? If the answer is "yes", this tour may be your kind of experience. Most people associate Madrid Region with the city and its historical and cultural background. However, the Madrid region is much more than that. I have always been eager to share the hidden side of the Madrid region and believe me, despite having one of the best value for money wines of the country, our wines are one of the least known not only in Spain but also in Madrid. Surprising, isn't it? If you join me for this adventure, you will learn more about our wine background by visiting 3 boutique wineries older than 200 years. In addition, we will taste at least 6 different wines with their appropriate pairings. Moreover, these wineries are in little pretty villages in the middle of the plain, whose landscapes are also worthwhile to see.
Alfonso guided us through Madrid with professional expertise, warm enthusiasm, and engaging storytelling. We thoroughly enjoyed his company, and the children really liked him. From history and culture to football and local cuisine, he shared knowledgeable and lively insights on every topic. Alfonso was a wonderful tour guide. He arrived at the hotel on time and off we went. Toured 3 different wineries and tried the wines. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wine industry and the areas outside of Madrid. His choices of wineries were excellent. Went to 3 different sizes. Favorited was the small organic winery run by just a family. Each place had something different and special though. Take a tour from Alfonso!
We booked a wine tour outside of Madrid with Alfonso. He went beyond our expectations. Took of us to three different wineries - each different in terms of scale and wine making style. He knew all three owners each of whom shared wine making stories of their families. The wines were very different in style but all excellent and served with food. Alfonso knows a lot about wines, the wineries we visited and history of the areas we were in. He is a great guide in every sense of the word.
We had a great Madrid tour with Alfonso. His knowledge and passion for Madrid and its history made for a great tour. He is a very kind person, and was very accommodating to us, with lots of local suggestions and advice. Five stars all the way- we will absolutely use Alfonso in the future. We had three tours with Alfonso. He was fabulous: very knowleageable, courteous and energetic. He was a good leader and adapted the tour to our needs (there were two disabled people in the group). I would definitely recommend Alsonso M for any of the tours you sell.
This was our second tour with Alfonso and like the first we had a wonderful time with him. Very personable and fun. He has a very good relationship with the owners of the wineries that you visit and tour. He took us to 3 wineries that weren't just carbon copies of each other. Each one was unique and added a different feeling to the experience. This is a tour where Alfonso's knowledge of the region is irreplaceable. Alfonso goes the extra mile to give you the best experience.
Departure from Madrid in the morning. 45 mins ride -Visit to Bodegas Cuarto Lote in Nuevo Baztan or another. 1 hour visiting the facilities and tasting their wines 40 mins ride -Visit to Bodegas del Nero in Chinchón or another. 1 hour visiting the facilities and tasting their wines 20 mins ride -Visit to Bodegas Jesus Diaz e Hijos in Colmenar de Oreja or another. 1 hour visiting the facilities tasting their wines 45 mins ride Back to Madrid NOTE: The winneries we will visit may vary depending on their availability. Bear in mind these wineries are small and family-run. In case a winery is not available we will visit either Bodegas Peral, Bodegas Morate, Licinia, El Regajal etc. The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do no hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.
