Hola and welcome to Madrid! My name is Beatriz and I was born and raised in this beautiful city where I work as a licensed local guide as well as in Toledo, Avila and Segovia. After finishing my University studies in Tourism , I decided to travel and lived overseas for a while. I spent almost 9 years living and working in the UK and Australia, always within the Travel Industry where I worked in Hotels, Museums (such the British Museum or the V&A Museum in London), as a Product Manager in online travel accommodation and as a freelance tour guide in my free time. After travelling around the world, I decided it was about time to go back home and work in my daydream job: being a local Tour Guide. Since I was a child, I had a passion for Art and History, I've always been very curious, enthusiastic and a storyteller. As a very proud 'Madrilenian', I love showing my city through my eyes: the official history, the hidden gems, my favourite corners, the 'real' Madrid. Besides guiding in monuments such the Royal Palace, Prado Museum, Reina Sofia or the Habsburgs quarter I also organize and tailor gastronomic, tapas or markets tours, flamenco shows, Retiro Park walk, Letters quarter, La Latina and tours focus in Family and Children. Additionally, I also worked in the past as a Tour leader travelling throughout Spain and Portugal, so I'm happy to help you and give you tips about the rest of the Iberian peninsula best places. Madrid Official Guide Licence Nº 850. Official Tour Guide License for Toledo Cathedral and Monuments. Official Licensed guide in Avila, Segovia and El Escorial. Graduated in Tourism by University Autonoma of Madrid. ETOA Tour Leader Licence in Europe. I am a driver but I do not have a license to take customers. However, I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I can also drive my own vehicle and meet you in the destination.

Overview of your Madrid tour

Today I would like to invite you to discover Madrid from a different perspective. We'll experience how we, "Madrilenians", like to enjoy their free time by: -Walking through one of the most beautiful and majestic parks. Retiro Park was owned by the Royal Family until the XIX century. I used to spend weekends playing here with my sisters when I was a child, here I learnt rolling skating and on Sundays and 12pm, my parents used to bring us here to listen to Free classic music. -Learning about Art History in the Prado Museum; considered to have one of the best Art collections in the world with more than 8000 paintings and sculptures. As an Art lover I will show you my preferred Masterpieces from: Titian, Rubens, Velazquez, Goya, El Greco, The Bosch, etc - Tasting some local Tapas and a local drink of your choice (Vermouth, wine or beer) in the bohemian quarter of Madrid, Letras neighbourhood. I will take you to the taverns I usually go with my friends. Doubtless, the best way to experience Madrid like we do!

Beatriz is friendly, personable and very knowledgeable. During our tour of the Prada, she gave us a perspective of the art, artists and history that we would never have had on our own. The tour of the palace was equally good. We are so glad we booked this tour and would highly recommend it! It was a great day!!

Our party of three met Beatriz for a tour of the Prado Museo. She previously acquired tickets for us, avoiding lines so we went right in for our tour. She had ear pieces for us to hear her descriptions clearly, in spite of the crowds. Her knowledge of history, paintings and artists and their influences was very evident. Our time with her in the museum passed very quickly. We saw only a part of the collection, but it was magnificent! We visit El Escorial with her on Thursday. Very special lady!

Beatriz was a great guide. Felt like we were walking around the site with a very knowledgeable friend. The tour easily met our expectations of what a good tour should be. We think a good tour guide not only passes along the historical facts, but gives us a chance to interact with a "local". To ask about modern daily life, etc. Our time with Beatriz was that and more.

Your Madrid tour itinerary

This would be a walking tour around Madrid starting from Cibeles Square. - Admire Cibeles fountain and emblematic buildings such Bank of Spain, Linares Palace or the Town Hall building - Stop by Alcala Gate to learn why each side is different and how was entering to Madrid in the past. - Retiro Park, we will walk around this amazing park, take pictures of the lake, the gardens, see the Crystal Palace and some of the trees and plants. - Stop by Prado Museum, where I will give you a guided tour of the master paintings. (Café and toilets available inside) - After the museum, walk by Neptune Square and Prado boulevard, see most luxurious hotels in town - Letters Quarter, where we would have our Tapa and drink tasting. *The order of the places we visit could be changed if you like or I can customize a tour for you. *Retiro Park might be closed exceptionally in very windy or/and rainy days. I will let you know in advance if this is the case to adequate the visit to the weather conditions.
