I studied in Madrid: I got first the degree in Tourism, and some years later I got the degree in German Philology (UCM University Complutense in Madrid). I worked as a tour leader travelling with groups during five years, but then I realized that I wanted to live in Madrid and work in this fantastic city. Guiding individual clients/groups is my full time job, and I have worked as a local guide since 1999. I love art, history, meeting people from other countries and showing them my city. ¡De Madrid al cielo! From Madrid to heaven! This enormously popular sentence by the writer Quiñones de Benavente means that Madrid is the best place in the world to live, and after Madrid, only heaven is a better place. My goal is to show how lively, friendly, charming, vibrant . . . my city is. We'll have charm and art in this visit. The Habsburgs' distric is the historical quarter par excellance. This lovely neighbourhood keeps almost the totality of its original layout with narrow streets that have had few modifications. In 1561, a small town became the capital of the Empire where the sun never set! After strolling in that area, we'll head for the Prado museum, nowadays museum for art lovers, but before "museum for painters", pilgrimage centre for artists such as Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, Dalí, Manet. . . With a qualified official guide I can ensure you that the visit will be enriched!

- First, we'll stroll through the old charming section, where apart from other places, we'll not miss: *Orient Square: Opera House (outside) *Royal Palace (outside) *Villa Square :Old Town Hall (outside) *St Miguel Market: gourmet "tapas" market *Mayor Square *Sun Gate Square :meeting point for the "madrileños"; welcome to km 0 of Spain!; it is our Times Square, where on New Year's Eve and eating 12 grapes, we welcome the New Year! -Then, we'll move towards the Prado Museum where we'll concentrate on the masterpieces: *Spanish school: El Greco, Velázquez, Goya. . . *Flemish school: Bosch, Van der Weyden, Rubens. . . *Italian school: Titian, Tintoretto, Rafael, Fra Angelico. . .
