Hello everybody! My name is Jaime, born and raised in Chamberí, a very "castizo" neighborhood of Madrid, well known for its genuine people and its alive streets, where tradition and modernity are always together, as it happens often in Madrid, the city I love and I'd like to show you. Art historian and official guide since 2013, I used to travel and visit cultural wonders as much as I could. Then I thought that the best way to keep doing so was to share it with other people, and I became a guide. Those travels helped me, as now I can do the tours in English and Italian, and of course, they are always useful to have a broader perspective. After guiding in Venice, where I lived for a couple of years, I returned to my city, which is the only city I might like more than Venice. Not only Madrid but also The beautiful historical towns nearby. After this many years, I still get stunned by the beauty inside Prado Museum, while searching for new knowledge among its endless collection. The best of Madrid is not only the fascinating history of the city but also its heritage as the capital of one of the biggest empires in human history. It is also the open-minded, cosmopolitan people who are always on the streets, meeting at the squares and going to hundreds of bars, restaurants, theaters, exhibitions, cinemas, and museums, always willing to help and talk to other people. Those people created centuries of traditions, legends, and secrets that I'd love to show you. They also created an endless and great gastronomy (where tapas are always the main protagonist) That we can also share. My aim is always to make the traveler enjoy, therefore I also encourage you to customize your tour, in every possible way: duration, content, stops, places to visit, and whatever you come up with. The entire city is my home and I am willing to show you all! We will have a great, casual, and fun time, and of course a lot of accurate professional information too. See you soon! History of Art degree Official guide license I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The main idea is to see the most important pieces, but also you will gain a general understanding of the evolution of art over the centuries. The greatest masters of all time are waiting for you inside. Of course, we will craft the tour as we go, according to your own interests and we can make a more thematic tour if you are specifically interested in a period or a particular issue. Prado Museum has pieces from many periods and regions. The most relevant are flemish primitives, Italian Renaissance, Spanish Baroque, El Greco, and Goya.
It will depend on you, but this could be a general idea: - Prado Building and its surroundings: as part of a great Enlightenment project, it is (along with Retiro Park, Paseo del Prado, Reina Sofía Museum, and Thyssen Museum) a universal heritage site by Unesco. - Flemish collection: wonderful paintings that changed the history of European art with exquisite new techniques (especially Roger van der Weiden) plus the unbelievable creativity of Hieronymus Bosch. - Italian Renaissance: Fra Angelico, Boticelli or Rafaello paintings might be among the most harmonic and beautiful works ever made. Also Tiziano and Tintoretto's great paintings, where light and colour are astonishing. - El Greco is a rare artist who created a great mysticism with his unique style. - The Spanish Baroque and the most famous painting of the collection: Las Meninas by Velazquez. - Goya's masterpieces: Las Majas, 3 de Mayo, or the black paintings. spectacular pieces that show the personality and talent of one of the greatest painters ever.
