Hello!! My name is Mayte , I was born and raised in Madrid , as my parents are locals , I am a "cat". I studied Tourism in the University of Madrid because I love history, art , traveling and meeting people. After traveling through Europe for 10 years guiding tourist groups, I decided to do the exams to become an official guide of Madrid , Segovia, Toledo and Avila. Certificated by Rasgo Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters. I am waiting for the chance to show you my lovely country . Overview of your Madrid tour

Do you happen to stop over in Madrid for some hours and do you want to explore the city?We will take a taxi , the underground or the bus and in 30 minutes we will be downtown. We will explore the most emblematic spots in the city, allowing you to experience and enjoy the richness of Madrid. Plaza Mayor is one of the main sights, it was the social and commercial hub of Madrid for many centuries. In its surrounding streets we discover the origins of the city, remnants of the Medieval Ages, the glory of becoming the Capital of the Spanish Kingdom and the changes that took place with the arrival of a new dynasty. A past that has remained engraved in the city's monumental buildings, squares and narrow streets, fiestas and social and cultural celebrations. We can complete our tour trying some local food, Tapas, in the bars that form part of the history of our city

This was an excellent tour that matched my expectations/requests exactly! I had an eight-hour layover in Madrid and hired Tours By Locals to show me around. Mayte met me on time, guided me through some of Madrid's most iconic neighborhoods, gave me a really wonderful tour of Prado highlights, and took me to a terrific tapas restaurant. She then accompanied me back to the airport with plenty of time to check in. P.S. I saved a lot of money by taking public transportation instead of hiring a driver!ou

Our experience with Mayte and ToursByLocals.com in Madrid was fabulous.We would use this site again and have already recommended it to our friends. Mayte and I made arrangements via email before trip. Our flight was an hour early. She was there with a sign and her driver. She is very professional and knows her history. She showed us around Madrid and gave us wonderful suggestions for our time in Spain. It was nice to leave our luggage in the van while walking around. They dropped us off at our hotel.
