Hola, welcome to Madrid! My name is Mariluz and I am a fully licensed professional guide of Madrid, Toledo, Avila and Segovia. I am graduated in Tourism (University of Zaragoza) and an expert of Spanish History and Art. I am also graduated in Economics (University of Zaragoza) and in Foreign Languages at the University of Poitiers, France. After some years travelling within Europe guiding groups from Spain and America, I decided to become Local Guide of Madrid, the city that adopted me more than 26 years ago! I love Madrid. It is a very interesting city and very open to everyone. Very soon, you feel you are part of it. I have been working as a Local Guide since 2. 001. I guide in all the most important museums in Madrid and I have the License to guide inside all the Monuments that are part of the National Trust or Heritage (Patrimonio Nacional), like the Royal Palace in Madrid. I feel happy : I love my job. It is my passion. I find it very interesting to share our History, Architecture, culture and even our cuisine recipes with travelers from all around the world. I have provided tours to so many different people! . . some of them even famous actors from Hollywood, like Morgan Freeman, Robert Downey Jr or Patrick Stewart. Segovia is a beautiful medieval city, declared by UNESCO a WORLD HERITAGE SITE . Located just 90 kms away from Madrid, it takes only 1H15min to reach it by car. The main attraction is its Roman Aqueduct, the biggest one in the world, standing up since 2000 years ago. Segovia historical quarter preserves an important number of old monuments, but buildings have no meaning if you don't know their history. Let me tell you their stories and history, what is hidden behind them, their legends and they'll come to life just in front go you! Mariluz was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, fun, interesting and flexible. She provided us with an amazing day and was willing to switch things up on the fly. Both kids, 13 and 14 were entertained and interested from start to finish. The transportation she arranged was A+++ and we loved the photos. All around a great day and $$$ we'll spent. This was a fantastic tour to a great city in Spain. Mariluz was spot on time to pick us up and was a very professional, friendly, informational and all around great guide for our tour to Segovia. She had pre-booked lunch at a local for the 10 of us as we visited Segovia on Good Friday and she knew we would have problems finding somewhere to accommodate all of us for a meal. She knew where to stop on the bus to get the best photos and was responsive to all our needs during the day. Perfect tour!
Mariluz is a wonderful guide. She was our guide for Segovia and Toledo. She knows the history of Spain well, and integrated that knowledge into our tours to bring what we were seeing, hearing and learning, meaningful and fun. Mariluz was very helpful with additional suggestions for places to visit and restaurants. In Segovia, for instance, she arranged for a fabulous lunch at a place where people come from around the world to eat the cuisine. She was delightful and very accommodating to our requests.
5 Stars Mariluz was a fabulous guide. We spent two days with her in Madrid and Segovia and would highly recommend her. Mariluz's knowledge was admirable and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our tours with Mariluz were the highlight of our trip to Spain.
