Hola, welcome to Madrid! My name is Mariluz and I am a fully licensed professional guide of Madrid, Toledo, Avila and Segovia. I am graduated in Tourism (University of Zaragoza) and an expert of Spanish History and Art. I am also graduated in Economics (University of Zaragoza) and in Foreign Languages at the University of Poitiers, France. I have an admission: I visited the Prado several years ago and could not make heads or tails out of the old paintings there (mostly with a lot of blood and death). After about 30 minutes, I escaped the museum to the beauty of the adjoining Retiro park. Well, what a difference a great guide like Mariluz makes! This time she expertly guided us on the highlights tour, bringing the old masters to life with her wonderful explanations and stories of the artists' lives, as well as the lives of the subjects. Our plane was delayed, and we missed the time for our museum tour. Mariluz was able to schedule our driver for our driving tour to pick us up from the airport and then do the driving tour. We moved the Prado tour to the next day after our royal palace tour with her. She was so flexible, and we really appreciated it. The Madrid highlights driving tour was exactly what our jet lagged family needed, and the Prado tour was perfect. She brought us to see all the major pieces and offered great insights.
