Hola! I was born and raised in Madrid. My uncle, a cultured man, took me since I was 6 years old to galleries and museums in Madrid and towns around. I was astonished and marveled by all the artifacts and weird things I discovered at that age. Those feelings made me pick a History of Art Major when I entered University. Once I got the degree I began travelling a lot throughout the world as a Tour Manager. I loved that life, very dynamic and full of exciting experiences. Contacting other cultures is the real university of life. But, when I was around 30 years old, I began missing home, family and friends. And I had something else in mind too. I felt frustrated that not many foreigners knew Madrid and its treasures. That's not possible, I thought!I have to do something about it. My goal and proposal: after all my travelling experiences I would love to make you feel my hometown Madrid in a different perspective rather than the typical tour I myself have experienced in many places around the world. Of course, the highlights should be visited, that's why they are so popular and breathtaking but also, if you let me, I want to introduce you to the real daily life of madrileños(Madrid locals), how we think, how we socialize and, last but not least, what we eat and drink. Welcome to my home town! A city where Spanish tradition and modernity are mixed together. I can show you for instance Cloistered Convents living peacefully inside one of the busiest (and bustling) areas of Madrid. Be delighted with 1st class Painting Galleries and monumental architecture but also feel and discover with me popular neighborhoods where locals -and anyone who visit us of course- can enjoy the famous Madrid tapas and street life. That is indeed my favorite part, my passion, to transmit the good vibes of my beloved city. That's the best memory we all get when we travel anywhere. Paradoxically founded by the Muslims, not by Romans like elsewhere in Europe, is now the capital of a country, Spain, small in size but rich in heritage, where us, "madrileños", are willing to be part of the modern world without losing our own identity and peculiarities. Let me take you not only yo the highlights of the city but also the hidden corners where real life takes place, I can't wait to show it to you! Vamos!
Ernesto was an amazing guy! He was informative and entertaining. He catered the tour for our group. We learned so much about the history of Madrid and saw many parts of the city. He is a true local and can provide a non tourist type experience and suggestions. HIGHLY suggest Ernesto as a guide for any tour. Don't skip seeing the Royal Palace!

Ernesto is extremely friendly and super flexible. He helped keep our kids engaged and had so much knowledge. We did a 1/2 day walking tour and it was great. We also did a full day Avila/Segovia day trip with him which was just amazing. There is a lot of walking but we expected/wanted that. It can be totally adapted. Highly recommend.
Ernesto was pleasant, knowledgeable and very flexible while guiding our family of five (including two teens) around Madrid. He even reached out in advance of our tour with personal recommendations for restaurants near our hotel. Ernesto is clearly a professional guide who loves his work and it shows. Ernesto is fantastic! Knowledgeable, charming, engaging. He tailored the tour to our interests and consistently checked in with us along the way. "Are you hungry?" "Want a coffee?" etc. In fact, we had to cancel a tour to Toledo the next day and asked Ernesto if he could take us the day after. Don't hesitate to hire him!

The itinerary is very flexible. There are so many options that can be picked during our tour. After my suggestions you can decide what kind of visit you would like to do, focusing in your interests. First of all, by taxi or public transportation, we can visit the monumental part of Madrid, long avenues and boulevards that by foot will be too tiring and a waste of our precious time. I am talking about Castellana, Plaza Colon, PLaza Cibeles and of course the elegant Gran Via street. And then, walking, we will stroll inside the old neighborhoods, with its narrow streets and alleys full of life and history. Within the old town, we pass Calle Mayor, Plza Mayor, Old City Hall, Puerta del Sol, Plza de la Paja, the Moorish district. And sure we also take a look at the writers neighbor, Plza Santa Ana and Leon and Prado streets. A great place we shouldn't miss is the visit inside to the Royal Palace
