Hola, welcome to Madrid! My name is Mariluz and I am a fully licensed professional guide of Madrid, Toledo, Avila and Segovia. I am graduated in Tourism (University of Zaragoza) and an expert of Spanish History and Art. I am also graduated in Economics (University of Zaragoza) and in Foreign Languages at the University of Poitiers, France. After some years travelling within Europe guiding groups from Spain and America, I decided to become Local Guide of Madrid, the city that adopted me more than 26 years ago! I love Madrid. I have provided tours to so many different people! . . some of them even famous actors from Hollywood, like Morgan Freeman, Robert Downey Jr or Patrick Stewart. Overview of your Madrid tour
First time in Madrid? Then, this is with no doubt, the tour you need if you do not want to get tired walking and walking miles to have a general vision of our city: in only 3 hours you will get a clear idea of Spain's capital and you will have seen its highlights in a comfortable way! On this tour I will explain you how the city was growing up from the middle of the 9th century up to present. The starting point of the city will be the old town or Madrid de los Austrias, the Gran Via, we will enjoy beautiful panoramic views from the river (perfect for shooting photos!), and we will drive to the most important neighbourhoods of Madrid to understand its main characteristics and charms aspects. Madrid has been my home for a long time. I feel really a "madrileña" and I will be happy to share with you my love for this cosmopolitan and "welcoming" city and what makes Madrid different from other european cities!
Your Madrid tour itinerary
-Meeting point at your hotel. -Paseo del Prado, with the area of the museums (Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofia) (driving along) -Cibeles Square (pass by). -Alcalá Gate (pass by/quick stop for picture). -Retiro Park (pass by ) -Bullfight ring (quick stop for explanations and pictures). -Salamanca sector. -Ortega y Gasset street (the golden mile in Madrid). -Paseo de la Castellana (driving along) -Gran Via (driving along) -River Manzanares (panoramic view, quick stop for pictures) -Old Town (pass by and stop at Plaza Mayor) -10 minutes walking to explore the Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Oriente with the Royal Palace (outside) . -Back to your hotel or stay downtown for lunch/dinner or shopping.
