Escorial Monastery Private Trip

Less than an hour away from Madrid, in our luxury private Van, embraced by nature of the Sierra de Guadarrama, we will visit the famous Monastery and Royal Palace San Lorenzo de El Escorial. This is a special spot for me since I was a little child. We used to go hiking in the mountains and I was always wondering what was that massive granite structure that could be seen from far away. Later I learnt the men who did it and how they managed to place it right up in the mountains, and I was even more impress. As I am sure you will if you join me! The palace is a highlight of Spanish Renaissance and it is the last will and obsession of probably the most powerful king of those times: Philip II. A perfect example of mathematics proportions and symbolism. Not only is a sublime architecture but the collection of paintings, sculptures are outstanding. After picking you up at your accommodation place we head north of Madrid. At the botton of the Mountain Range "Guadarrama" is located the village of El Escorial. Impressive in its regular proportions and the amount of granite blocks needed for the construction, the Monastery of San Lorenzo is a multi-functional building: we visit all the different buildings and sections: the Royal Pantheon, the Monastery, and School, the Royal Residence and the Basilica. The ruler of the Spanish Empire wanted to built a perfect building to fulfill its own ambitions and dreams. Slowly we walk through the different courtyards and rooms of this massive construction: Paintings, Sculpture and architecture are joined together in ideal proportions.
