Fun day with Lesley on her Safari Johannesburg tour. We saw pretty much every animal possible including Buffalo, Lion, Rhino and Cheetah. She shared history along the way. Highly recommend this tour.

I love my country passionately and have always had a deep-seated interest in all it holds, especially its history and wildlife. South Africa is blessed with the most incredible variety and richness of landscape, flora, fauna and people. There is nothing I enjoy more than showing this bounty to visitors and giving my guests an insight into my world. I enjoy one-on-one communication, discussing points of interest raised by the guests. I always customize the itinerary to suit special interests, and am quite happy to change things to suit during the tour, provided no pre-bookings have been made. My special interest is wildlife, and therefore I have trained as a field guide as well as a tour guide. This allows me to add depth to any tour, but especially the Nature tours. I strive to deliver a quality, personal touring experience. No matter whether historical, cultural or natural, the journey is both unique and unforgettable. I have lived in South Africa most of my life, and have been resident in the Gauteng area for 50 years. I have a passion for history and the natural world and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I have a personal interest in ornithology (that's birds!) and trips to suit those with a special interest in birds and birding can be arranged with the greatest of pleasure. I believe that every place has a story. As a guide, I strive to tell such stories in an interesting and informative way. Visiting the setting around which the story evolved brings a feeling of reality to the events. Whether visiting a museum or exploring a game reserve, on a day trip or on a long journey to the lesser-known parts of the country, I plan my routes through interesting areas imparting as much local knowledge as possible along the way. Many visitors want to see where and how local people live, so I take the back routes rather than flying past on the highways. Wherever possible, I vary my return route so as to enjoy as much of this beautiful country as possible. I do not have set itineraries. I tailor each tour to suit the client - from the food to the route, the places and the people. The museum may be the same, but the route we take and what we see along the way will be planned according to the client's interests ensuring a unique, personal experience. Registered South African Tourist Guide for Gauteng, North-West and Mpumalanga provinces. Field Guide registered with Field Guide Association of South Africa. Field Guides are essentially Game Rangers, proficient to take tourists through Nature and Game Reserves.

About an hour from O. R Tambo International Airport is the Rhino and Lion Park. Have a glimpse of the rich wildlife and scenery this country has to offer you by taking a short safari instead of sitting in the airport lounge. I give a background history of Johannesburg as we drive there, with plenty to see along the way. We drive through the park, enjoying the grassland scenery and the herds of grazing animals. Rhino and buffalo, two of the Big 5, are present among many antelope and zebra. This reserve falls into the Grassland biome, and there are a number of antelope species such as springbok, hartebeest and blesbok not seen in parks such as Kruger National Park. The lion, another of the Big 5, are in their own drive-through enclosures, as are the cheetah and wild dogs, both highly endangered species. The hippo pools are worth visiting for a glimpse of these large herbivores. Meets the Animal Welfare Policy.

Wonderful tour and guide. Learned so much and loved seeing all the animals and interacting with the cubs. Lesley brought a huge lunch spread which was delicious.
What a great tour guide! We were uncertain how we wanted to spend our day, particularly as we were also planning another tour in the same general area and wanted to minimize the overlap. Lesley was very patient with us, and helped us build a custom tour that worked very well. We toured the Rhino and Lion Park and the Origins Center, and saw a bit of downtown Johannesburg. We had a great time. Lesley has a very pleasant personality, and made the whole day enjoyable and interesting for us.
the tour was exectly as i expected the guide was very cooperative and with a lot of knowledge!
- We travel directly to the park. - The time spent in the park will vary depending on your available time. The longer the layover, the more time we can spend. - If you have the time, we can visit the Wonder Cave - There are picnic sites and a picnic lunch can be arranged on request. PLEASE NOTE: This tour can be extended to include part of the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site if you have the time. If you have the evening available dinner at Carnivore restaurant is possible. Please enquire as to time needed and cost.

I use an airconditioned VW Microbus, that can take a maximum of 7 passengers. For this tour, I suggest no more than 5 people, as this ensures good viewing.
