Hello, my name is Cristi. I am 46 years old and I was born and raised in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania and I am proud and hapy to live here. I started working as a courier and then for the past 11 years I have been in the tourism business. I did transfers and private tours in Romania and in the neighbouring Eastern European countries. I have been collaborating with most of the Romanian travel agencies and the river cruises companies that are operating on the Danube. It is a great job, I find it very exciting and rewarding. I get to be the 'ambassador' of my country and I get to meet travelers from all around the world, getting to know different cultures and mentalities. When I am not working my favourite things to do are traveling all over the world, riding motorcycles, cycling, hiking and breeding pigeons. I am a very active person, I love traveling all over the word and I spend a lot of time in the Carpathian Mountains. I am looking forward to meet you and show you my wonderful country! I have a Tourism License from the Romanian Ministry of Tourism and Transportation I am a Program Director / Cruise Manager for an American Company ,on the Danube river . Safe driver with 26 years of experience. I am not allowed to guide inside of the Palace of the Parliament

In this tour you will have the chance to see the second largest Salt Mine in Europe , where people are comming for the therapeutic benefits. Unirea Salt Mine, is located in the Subcarpati hills. Also here they have seven salted lakes . The salt mine is located 208 meters underground, it is known for its healing effects, due to the purity of the air having a constant temperature inside of 12 degrees Celsius ( 54 Fahrenheit ). It is impressive by size, being one of the largest in Europe. Our Next stop is Lacerta Winery in the region, called The Big Hill, very scenic and the most famous area in Romania for the good quality wine. Lacerta is one of the most modern winerys in Romania ( Austrian investments) Here we are going to have a tour of the winery and you can taste some of the premium wines of the winery. I am very proud with the Romanian wines from this region and would love at the end of this tour, to feel the same :)
Cristi, is a great tour guide with lots of knowledge, experience and insight. The tour was well planned and executed. We had a great lunch in a hidden-away spot, visited the monastery island and the muddy volcanos. He’s a good driver with a really comfortable car. Highly recommended
Excellent our guide Cristi was knowledgeable, likable, had a nice car and was excellent company very fluent in English. The salt mines was amazing, like a great natural cathedral and the winery he chose was first class. Highly recommend this tour.
To get a broad overview of Romania in a very short visit - definitely head out to the countryside. And a trip to the Salt Mine /Salina Slănic Prahova north of Bucharest is a chance to see something unlike anything else you’ve ever seen. It feels a bit unreal. And Cristi S. Was a very fun, prompt, prepared and knowledgeable guide. If you just want to sit back and listen he has plenty to tell you about what you are seeing, both in the city and as you get out and away. Or Cristi is also ready to answer a million questions about “what’s that? , Is that…? Are those trees…?” And so on. This tour works great for a family w/kids or a small group. But I was a solo traveler for this trip and still had a blast! I got to taste local wine (the selections feel like the middle between Italy & Germany FWIW - very good!) and had a spectacular lunch of stunning local food.
Christi was an excellent host. He picked up on time and we proceeded to our first destination. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of Bucharest and Romania. The salt mines were an amazing spectacle and Christi's knowledge helped us understand them. We then headed for the wine tasting. I was great to be able to see lots of the country side during the drive. The wine tasting opened our eyes to the excellent quality of Romanian wine. All in all an excellent tour.
