Not very far from the bustling life of the Romanian capital there is an ancient, quiet, picturesque wine road dating back to the Roman times. It is an area famous mostly for the red wines but nowadays offering a wide range of varieties. Driving through the valleys of the southern sub Carpathians north east of Bucharest I will help you discover a countryside rich in flavors and colors, only 90 minutes away. Exquisite dining in the middle of the vineyards accompanied by stories, visits at small wine museum or typical manor and glimpse of the rich nature the area has to offer. We will stop at wineries, meet locals and sip a selection of local liquors of your choice. . . or just trust the guide :). Use the opportunity to discover the Romanian wine varieties and find out about the wine culture of Romania. Very customizable, depending on the season and your will to experience. Your Bucharest tour itinerary
Start at your hotel with a morning pick up; Since it is still morning when we arrive, we stop for a quick visit at a small, 250 year old traditional wine museum and find out how it was done back in the old days; After, a first sip and warm up at a local modern winery, only a few minutes away; Lunch in the middle of a picturesque vineyard, with wonderful view over the valleys; take your time to relax and take in the view; Siesta at a 3rd winery with a selection of local wines or at traditional manor with visit of the property; The last drops and sunset view will be enjoyed at the last winery, in a picturesque setting; Return to Bucharest and drop off at hotel Please keep in mind this is a draft proposal of a day; it can suffer changes according to your interests and endurance but also due to availability of venues, bank or religious holidays.
