Salt mine - Wine tasting trip

An outstanding day trip from Bucharest. To avoid Bucharest traffic delays, Adrian advised us to leave early. We arrived at the salt mine just before it opened. For the first hour we enjoyed this cavernous and awesome space by ourselves, which was a surreal treat. After that we, enjoyed two curated and private wine tastings, the first at LaCerta and the second at Domeniul Aristietei. These two wineries were our introduction to the wines of Dealu Mare. When planning the tour, we discussed with him that we are experienced wine aficionados looking to experience excellent examples of local grape varieties and wine making practices. Adrian did a very nice job of choosing two wineries that met our desires. Both wineries made great wines and provided delightful experiences. Along the way, Adrian provided insightful commentary that helped us begin to understand this fascinating country.

Very knowledgeable

Fantastic place to visit! Was picked in Bucharest for a few hours drive up to Slanic Prohav. You are then driven through the active drives into a massive public gallery some 200m high. Massive folded sequences line the walls, entirely salt. A geologists dream! haha. For non geos is quite awesome too. You feel as if you've stumbled into a Lord of the Rings film. You can wander through at your leisure, have a sleep, take coffee and even play billiards, as Deep Purple or Elton John echo through the air.
