Hi, I'm Laura, I am the author and promoter of the Bucharest Step by Step concept and I very much enjoy organizing thematic and custom-made walking tours in and around Bucharest. I LOVE MY CITY BECAUSE: Bucharest may not strike you as a glamorous or grandiose European capital, with a meticulously preserved architectural heritage. But it is precisely this unselfconsciousness coupled with spectacular contrasts and an incredible vitality that makes Bucharest such a unique place. ONE OF THE THINGS I ENJOY THE MOST: to uncover hidden gems and cool spots off the beaten path and share them with tourists from all around the world. Why choose me as a tour guide? - I am always up-to-date with all the new hip places in town - all my tours are carefully adapted to suit your specific interests and needs - on my tours you will receive lots of information and recommendations about what to see and do while in Bucharest Join me on a discovery tour and you will surely come to love this scarred, chaotic, eclectic but fascinating and vibrant city. Welcome to Bucharest! - National Guide License - BA in Foreign Languages (German, English); sworn translator/ interpreter International experience: - ERASMUS mobility scholarship, Ruhr-Bochum University, Germany - CEEPUS Scholarship in Rijeka, Croatia - OEAD Scholarship in Vienna, Austria I do not drive but I collaborate with several transport companies. The Palace of Parliament & the Ceausescu Mansion have their own guides for the interior visits.

Let me help you discover Romanians' joie de vivre and their cuisine - this super-tasty hotchpotch with Balkan, Ottoman, French and Russian influences through my special culinary tour. This is an unconventional tour that will demonstrate how easy it is to get a little bit of something delicious from the streets of Bucharest. As a local foodie, I will tell you the story of hidden and traditional pastry shops and fast food booths, along with a general introduction to cultural objectives and sites. There will be special stops at bakeries and old-style grocery shops with delicious souvenirs to bring home to your family and friends. We have a lot of special stories to tell and I bet you've never tried some of the dishes we get on the go from our very talented street-food chefs. Well. . . is your mouth watering yet? :)

Bring your biggest stomach & your walking shoes. Laura got me off to a great start in understanding Romanian food. It’s A LOT & delicious and ties in to Romania’s history. Walking through the neighborhoods gave me a sense of how busy Bucharest is. By the end I understood why Romania reminds me of other places - but it is it’s own place finding it’s way. Laura had so much to show and tell me, it was a great way to start my time in the city & the country. Mersi!
We had a wonderful time touring Bucharest with Laura. She shared her vast knowledge of the history of both Romanian and Bucharest as well as giving us a great tour of the non tourist areas of the city. The various food stops were all very nice, very traditional and very delicious! WE highly recommend this tour for any foodie who wants to experience the traditional city and food! Laura was excellent!
We really enjoyed our Bucharest food tour with Laura. She is very knowledgeable about where to go and what foods to sample. Laura is energetic and personable. If you want to get away from the touristy parts of the city and eat like a local, this tour is for you!
Laura was knowledgeable, amicable, informative, and more than capable. Her in depth knowledge of the local eateries and Romanian cuisine allowed us to experience the city on a more personal level. She was more than willing to answer all questions regarding Bucharest past and present. Her candid answers gave us a better understanding of the city and made the experience deeply personal. We highly recommend this guide when in Bucharest Romania.
This is what I propose for you: - Soak up the atmosphere in a lovely summer garden and taste a selection of the mouth-watering Romanian starters - Enjoy the most delicious Romanian zacuscă and cold cuts - Discover slow-cooked food prepared with the best seasonal ingredients - Try some fresh juice at a small local farmers' market - Enjoy the best eclairs in Bucharest If you have other preferences, let me know and I can tailor make a tour for you.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
Walking tour. There is a lot of food on this tour and we cover a lot of ground (approx. 3 km), so wearing comfortable shoes and not eating too much for breakfast is highly recommended. There is a reasonable amount of walking (approx. 15 minutes walking) between the various food stops en route. All flat, some cobblestone streets;
