Dracula's Castle, presumed birthplace / resting place

My son and I had a wonderful tour with Vlad. Vlad immediately made us feel at ease with the communication prior to the tour and he even provided recommendations for dinner spots for our first night in Bucharest. Vlad was able to tweak the tour for us a bit as we were only interested in seeing the outside of Bran Castle. He knew the best spots for photos that were not crowded at all! Although it is a long day, I highly recommend this tour with Vlad. Brasov is beautiful and Vlad knows the best place for gelato! We had a wonderful traditional lunch at a gastronomical point in Viscri and then explored the fortified church which is a UNESCO site. Sighisoara was amazing with its colorful medieval buildings. The drive through the Carpathians and Transylvanian countryside also offered stunning views. You could see a number of fortresses and fortified churches from the road. But it was Vlad that was truly the highlight of the tour and made the places much more memorable for us. Vlad has a great sense of humor and is a wealth of knowledge about Romania. He was able to answer any questions we had and provide additional resources if we wanted to explore the topic more later. We hit a bit of traffic on the way back but time flew as Vlad had a stellar play list and was able to keep us entertained with music, stories and his upbeat personality. (It is no small feat to keep a 16 yr old entertained- so bravo to Vlad!). If we had more time, we definitely would have done more tours with Vlad!

Vlad was amazing, simply amazing. Despite the long drive, the conversation in the car never lagged for a second. The itinerary for the day, based upon Vlad's suggestions was perfect. Everything went perfectly, even down to the wonderful combat at lunch. The perfect day.

Fantastic tour because of a great guide. Vlad is a professional, very knowledgeable about pretty much everything. He not only explains things clearly and fully, he has a backpack full of laminated maps, pictures, etc. He also has a lot of short videos cued up on his phone with lots of Romanian facts and trivia and Romanian music to fill in when we need a break. The itinerary got us to Bran (Dracula) castle before it was too crowded and then off to an interesting selection of castles/forts, churches,old towns, traditional towns, lunch. A fair amount of walking, mostly in the castles and fortified churches but nothing unreasonable and he is very good about pointing out all the trip hazards and head bangers. Transylvania is beautiful and I’m glad we didn’t miss it.

Vlad was the best ambassador for our introduction to Romania. We took the 16-hour Transylvania tour and it was perfect. He started with history of Bucharest as we left the city and 16 hours is not enough time to cover the rich and fascinating history of the area. Vlad personalized the experience to hit all the places we wanted to see. He was hilarious and entertaining, covering a wide variety of topics and eras. There is nothing like a great private tour guide to immerse yourself in the culture of an area so quickly and thoroughly when you have limited time to spend there. I can't recommend Vlad enough, his personal stories and depth of knowledge of the area are stellar.

Vlad was amazing and one of the best tour guides we've ever had! He was so knowledge about the historical, cultural, and traditional facts, but also provided anecdotal stories to help enrich our understanding. While the tour is long, it is well worth the time and with Vlad, the time flies. We would recommend Vlad to any of our friends visiting Romania.

I had an incredible time with Vlad. It was amazing how much we saw in just one day covering everything from Bran Castle and Brasov, to Viscri, Sighisoara, Peles Castle, and more. He had many interesting stories and fun cultural and historical facts to share which made the day very memorable, plus was great with suggestions for where to take incredible pictures. The itinerary was well organized and I felt I had just the right amount of time for each stop; highly recommend.
