Day trip to Veliko Tarnovo - former capital of Bulgaria

In this tour I will share more about the history of Bulgaria but I will tell you also interesting facts: For example, did you know that Bulgarians called their country The land of roses? For why is that, I will share more with you while on tour. Together we will visit a Rock church and I will tell you more about traditions and legends. We will conquer Tsaravets Fortress, an impressive medieval construction, here you can have a good view over the city. We will have a walk on the merchants street in Veliko Tarnovo where you can see old crafts and do some shopping I always enjoy going to Bulgaria. Bulgarians are nice welcoming people and the food is amazing, actually, my favorite Restaurant is in Veliko Tarnovo and I am looking forward to having a nice lunch together.

We start the day by crossing the border to Bulgaria , only 60 km, so be sure to have your passport with you. - After this we will stop in the valley of Rusenski Lom river at St Dimitri Basarabovo Rock Monastery, the place of birth of the saint who is known as the protector of Bucharest. - Afterward we visit Veliko Tarnovo also known as " City of the Tsars" once the capital of The Bulgarian Empire. The main focus point here will be Tsaravets Fortress an impressive construction that will live you breathless. - After a well-deserved lunch in a great restaurant with a panoramic view we will be heading towards Arbanassi village situated on the top of a hill, once a village for wealthy merchants and their houses can still be seen nowadays.
