Vlad was an excellent guide, and a walking encyclopedia about Romania, and Bulgaria culture throughout the centuries. His choice of restaurant in Bulgaria to have lunch was over the top with an excellent view looking over the city and river.

Hello, traveler from far away! Glad to see you are planning your trip to Romania! My name is Vlad and would be delighted to introduce you to the secrets of our beautiful country. . . In the last 4 years, I have traveled with hundreds of groups and made thousands of new friends while guiding them through the many wonders Romania has to offer. Contact me, let's plan your trip together and you will become my new friend! Yes, I love my country. I am proud of it and I am sure of the fact that we live in a beautiful place. I want to show you the reasons why I love it. . . and who knows, maybe even make you too fall in love with Romania! I also love my job - I am an authorized Professional Tour Guide in Romania (by the Local Authority for Tourism) - I love meeting new persons, exchanging information about different cultures, I like traveling and - some say - I talk too much (but that's not bad for a tour guide, is it? :) ). I like to speak what's on my mind and I never stick to only offering the "politically correct" information. I want my guests to leave the country with a real general idea of how people live here, which are our daily problems and better informed about certain events in our history. I own a 2015 Volkswagen Sharan, 7-seater MPV. We have done many miles together and "she" is my reliable travel companion :). Even though the Sharan can accommodate up to 7 persons, should you be looking for more comfort, I can arrange renting a larger vehicle (minivan, van, etc. ) especially if your group is of 7 or more adults. I can provide both Private and Group Tours for tourists visiting Romania. I speak fluently English, Spanish, Italian and Turkish. I am passionate about history, geography, traditions and of course, meeting new persons. Besides the tours listed here, we can discuss in detail your trip to Romania, and establish the most interesting itinerary according to your interests and, of course, your available time. If you need further information regarding the services I can provide please don't hesitate to contact me! * Authorized Tour Guide in Romania * Member of International Tourism Association of Professionals (ITAP) * Member of European Tourism Association (ETOA) * Marketing and Foreign Trade Specialist (University degree) * Culture and Civilization Specialist (High School degree) No restrictions but for your available time :).

Hello, traveler from far away! Nice to hear you are coming to visit Romania! I thought that, since you are here, you might want to explore a bit of Bulgaria as well. Let's do that together. We'll visit together a beautiful town, Veliko Tarnovo, the old Capital of the 2nd Bulgarian Empire, a very nice old Fortress - Tsaravets, a unique village - Arbanasi (where we'll visit a typical house, which is now a museum) and the rock monastery of Basarbovo. We'll cross the border from Romania to Bulgaria, so please make sure you carry a passport, or we'll just see Bulgaria from the Romanian shore of the Danube :) We'll have a delightful lunch in an interesting restaurant in Veliko Tarnovo, offering a beautiful panoramic view over the city. And, speaking of panoramic views, if you are into photography, on the way back to Bucharest I'll show you a secret place, from where you can admire the nice town of Ruse. Looking forward to seeing you!

Our tour with Vlad was great and memorable. He is very personable and has a wealth of knowledge about the region and it's history. He was extremely accommodating and customized an itinerary that perfectly fit the needs of my family. I highly recommend Vlad for your own local tour!
Vlad's tour to Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria was delightful. His knowledge of the history of the area is awesome. His information about the Bulgarian people and their culture in comparison to Romania was fascinating. Who else nods "yes" by moving their head side-to-side and "no" up and down? When my wife broke her handbag, he helped her buy a new one. Add to that great restaurants, planned stops, and panoramic views of the Danube and the day was complete.
Our time with Vlad was a combination tour and transportation from Bucharest to Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. Vlad was willing to customize for our needs. He took us on a walking tour of Rousse, a delightful lunch in an old fortress, to an old stone church built in the rock and a tour of Tsarevets outside Veliko. He carried our luggage along with us in his very nice car as we planned to stay in Veliko overnight. Vlad is knowledgeable about both Romania and Bulgaria -- though less so about Bulgaria.
Vlad was incredibly energetic and his enthusiasm for this tour was contagious. He made sure that we had a lovely day visit to Bulgaria and provided insightful information about the country and culture along the way. I highly recommend this tour.
This is a suggested itinerary and can be customized to fit your preferences: As this is a long journey, we should leave Bucharest pretty early in the morning, preferably 8. 30 if possible. - We will head towards Giurgiu, where we'll cross the Danube (and the border between Romania and Bulgaria), reaching Ruse. - From Ruse, we will head to Arbanasi, where we will visit a very interesting museum, Konstantsalieva House, which was initially built in 17th century. - Then we'll visit Tsaravets Fortress, an impressive stronghold. - Then we'll head towards Veliko Tarnovo, for lunch. - After lunch, we'll have a stroll on the old streets of the town. - Later on, we'll head to Ruse, to see another representative (and nice) Bulgarian town. - Towards the evening, we'll cross back the border to Romania and return to Bucharest, with beautiful memories and very nice photos :).
