Welcome to Romania! Born and raised in Bucharest, I've been a tour designer and tailored experience facilitator for 20+ years in Romania. Tango dancer and taichi practitioner with a penchant for cultural experiences and travel; background of law and project management degree. Not a believer of "package tourism". Always willing to go the extra mile in order to provide the guest with the best possible experience. Love to translate my cultural space or deepen the knowledge of the traveler who is curious to discover more. Off and on the beaten path. . . Passionate about exchange of ideas and world cultures. Virtually undiscovered and at the crossroad of many cultural influences, Bucharest can surprise you with its many facets and complicated landscape. It is definitely worth giving it a try. I will be telling you both the legends and the real facts of, still, Europe's best kept secret. We will be touching the most important spots and the less obvious: the old center with bustling life and auberges, turn of the century palaces, squares and gardens, cemeteries and communist decay. I can take you from late medieval to the recent history of my hometown, explain the architectural landscape and familiarize you with the local habits and cuisine. I am ready to customize according to your expectations and interests. If you would like further details, please get in touch! Although a relatively young settlement (approximately 600 years) and at the crossroad of several cultural influences, Bucharest doesn't cease to surprise the new arrival with its hues. Bustling and chaotic, colorful and austere, modern and decay make and intriguing mix that can only be understood with local help. I invite you for a one day general walkthrough of the Romanian capital to discover its many stories from the late Middle Ages to modern times; stories of invasions, urban development, ethnicities, currency and language. See the cultural landmarks, squares, parks and palaces. We start in its birthplace with the auberges, taverns and bookstores. A short glimpse at the 1980s with their utopian architecture. On to the financial district and its end of the century architecture. Continue to the central crossroad of the University. Revolution, National Art Gallery, the Atheneum. We end with the Triumphal Arch, Palace of Press and Village Museum. Quick lunch/ snack break in between. Long and fruitful day.
Old Financial city Center with late 17-18th century Bucharest and Jewish architects' heritage; The Parliament building outside view University square with National Theater; Military Club; Victory Avenue; Revolution square and headquarters of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Royal Palace/ National Art Gallery; Atheneum; The Congress Hall Subway ride to northern Bucharest Ceausescu residence museum - gardens and outside view Triumphal Arch
