Ciao! I am pleased to meet you. My name is Antonella and I would love to show you Verona and Lake Garda though my eyes. I am a licensed city and hiking guide and I have a degree in History of Art. I live not far from Verona, by lake Garda, surrounded by nature, with a huge cultural heritage and are rich in history and local traditions. When I was young my passion for traveling brought me to South America, where I spent six months backpacking through different countries. The highlight of that experience was volunteering for a non-profit organization in Peru, where I had the chance to discover how people truly lived there. Since then, whenever I visit a new country or place I look for its "authentic side", the events which determined the history, the folklore and the culinary traditions. Art and Architecture are also very important, as they are the tangible expression of the past and the identity of a land. This is exactly what I'd like to give you during my tours: it's me, living here, with the love for my land and my curiosity for different cultures. I am convinced that every time I say good-bye to my guests I have given them a part of my country, whilst also learning something about theirs. I enjoy working with all people, as well as with families, children and people with disabilities. I'd be more than happy to plan a tailor-made tour for you. Please contact me if you need any more information or any special requirements. What I also love are open air activities: I am a tireless hiker, a passionate cyclist and I recharge my batteries in natural environments. As a licensed hiker and bike-guide, I can also take you on a hiking or biking tour through the villages around Lake Garda, Verona and the amazing Valpolicella wine district. I look forward to meeting you! 2021 license as environmental, bike and hike guide 2018 license as tour guide 2011 degree in History of Art at the University of Verona 2001 license as tour leader I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

If you have a full day at your disposal you may wish to visit Verona and also one of the most beautiful spots of Lake Garda: Sirmione! My cultural training took place in Verona, but it is on Lake Garda that I had the good fortune to live for the past 20 years. I can really say that I know it like the back of my hand. During the first part of the tour we will explore the historical center of Verona and discover together its most significant symbols, as well as some of its hidden corners. I will enlighten you about Verona's glorious past and show you its attractions, but I will also tell you about our life-style as well as our culinary traditions that, exactly like history and art, reveal a lot about the real soul of the inhabitants of a place. In the afternoon, after a short lunch stop, we will reach Sirmione the so called "pearl of Lake Garda". It's a beautiful peninsula, stretching for over 3km in the middle of the southern part of the lake, and most famous for its 700 years old castle and ruins.
We can start the tour from Piazza Bra, or from your hotel if it is located in the city. During the walk we will see: - Piazza Bra' and the Roman amphitheater - Juliet's house with its legendary balcony - Piazza delle Erbe with the lively market stalls - Piazza dei Signori with the palaces of the Scaligeri family - The "Arche scaligere" best Gothic architecture in Verona - Via Sottoriva with the typical "Osterie" - Ponte Pietra, the Roman bridge dating back to the 1st BC After a short stop for lunch, we will reach Sirmione on lake Garda, about one hour drive from Verona. In Sirmione we will spend about 3 hours: We will start with a half an hour (optional) boat tour around the peninsula and will then continue on foot admiring: - The Scaligeri Castle dating back to the 14th century - The parish church of Santa Maria Maggiore with its beautiful frescoes - The Villa or Maria Callas - A walk along the promenade NB: the tour can be also reversed, first Sirmione and then Verona
