After 25+ years spent with independent, curious travelers I know how to connect deeply and quickly. So let me be your sister in town! I can't wait of taking you to my favorite spots for seeing, eating, drinking and delving into the city soul. I was born and raised in Verona, an adorable, romantic, cozy Italian city and I have seen it changing over time under my eyes! Roman Archaeology is my background and I am listed in the prestigious Rick Steves Italy guidebook. I'm excited about helping you understand a little more of my beloved city: its art, history, landscape and the mood of the Italian "provincia". I am happy to tailor unique experiences for my travelers: if you are happy, I am happy! On my private tours, "connect" and "share" are my verbs: I couldn't live without connecting with my travelers and sharing ideas and experiences with them. For me being a tour guide is a way of travelling every day without moving from home! I get emotional when I taste classy wines and I am a Level 1 sommelier. I love good architecture, good music, good wines, I read many memoirs. I'm a mother of 3 globe-trotters. -Since 2003: Listed on Rick Steves Italy guidebook. -Master degree in Roman Archaeology. -Level 1 wine Sommelier. -Certified interpretive guide at NAI- National Association for Interpretation (Fort Collins, CO) -Since 2000: Board Licensed Tour Guide in UNESCO Verona and its province -Master course in Museology and Museography. Here are my tours (feel free of asking if you have special requests): - My CITY TOURS where I show you around as a proud native - My very easy and enjoyable LAKE GARDA tour, that I can customize to your needs - My BOUTIQUE WINE TOUR, where you learn about the 3 special things that make the Amarone a great wine - I can easily arrange COMBO TOURS: city+lake or city+wine or even city+lake+wine! - I can also accomodate FAMILIES on my family tour with kids aged 4 to 12 - SHAKESPEARE fans will rejoice on my Romeo and Juliet tour, where I discuss universal values such as Romantic Love, Family Hatred, Young Desire, Good and Bad Parenting, Deep Friendship. - I can also arrange transportation from Milan, from Venice, from Bologna: just ask! I hope to be able to meet you very soon! I am a local guide of Verona: I do not deliver tours in Milan (only pick up). I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your Verona tour

"O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" On this tour we enter the famous courtyard of Juliet's house and see her legendary balcony to discover that love, passion, sacrifice, courage, tenderness, dedication are timeless emotions. We see also Romeo's house and Prince Escalus's burial place. We enjoy colors and sounds of the piazza Erbe, where Medieval towers, ancient palazzi and statues overlook an everyday market. Beside it, piazza dei Signori is instead quiet, elegant and has a charme of its own. We won't miss Castelvecchio: a very special castle where Medieval history, contemporary architecture and the riverside scenery wonderfully mix together. And, last but not least, the incredible Arena: the best preserved amphitheatre of the Roman Empire, place of cruel gladiator fights in the past and, nowadays, the largest Opera stage. . . in the world! Pls note that with a Certified Guide you skip lines If you wish to get to Verona by train. I can pick you up at the train station

Valerie is a great guide. She knows Verona and Italian history well and was able to create an educational and entertaining tour for our group. We had 8 people with 2 under 5 years old and one that is 83 years old. No issue for her. She made the experience relevant to all.

An excellent introduction to Verona, which is such a stunning city to explore and get to know. It left us in a good position to return for more extensive visits to different parts. Valeria has extensive knowledge to share, and is able to answer any additional questions thrown at her. Valeria's recommendations for local restaurants and activities, such as little known Bishop's blessing for the Feast of the Assumption were very valuable.

Valeria met our group of 8 in the most torrential rainstorm. This was so unfortunate, however, despite the challenging weather we had a highly informative group presentation covering the history, the people, the buidings and architecture of Verona. We walked, with our umbrellas, fighting wind and rain, to view important areas within the city. Much as the weather tried to get the better of us, with Valeria and her enthusiasm we prevailed. Our unqualifued gratitude to Valeria for making the most of our short visit to Verona, as alone we probably would have hidden in our hotel rooms.
