Ciao! I am pleased to meet you. My name is Antonella and I would love to show you Verona and Lake Garda though my eyes. I am a licensed city and hiking guide and I have a degree in History of Art. I live not far from Verona, by lake Garda, surrounded by nature, with a huge cultural heritage and are rich in history and local traditions. When I was young my passion for traveling brought me to South America, where I spent six months backpacking through different countries. The highlight of that experience was volunteering for a non-profit organization in Peru, where I had the chance to discover how people truly lived there. Since then, whenever I visit a new country or place I look for its "authentic side", the events which determined the history, the folklore and the culinary traditions. Art and Architecture are also very important, as they are the tangible expression of the past and the identity of a land. This is exactly what I'd like to give you during my tours: it's me, living here, with the love for my land and my curiosity for different cultures. I am convinced that every time I say good-bye to my guests I have given them a part of my country, whilst also learning something about theirs. I enjoy working with all people, as well as with families, children and people with disabilities. I'd be more than happy to plan a tailor-made tour for you. Please contact me if you need any more information or any special requirements. What I also love are open air activities: I am a tireless hiker, a passionate cyclist and I recharge my batteries in natural environments. As a licensed hiker and bike-guide, I can also take you on a hiking or biking tour through the villages around Lake Garda, Verona and the amazing Valpolicella wine district. I look forward to meeting you! 2021 license as environmental, bike and hike guide 2018 license as tour guide 2011 degree in History of Art at the University of Verona 2001 license as tour leader I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Since I moved to Verona, over 20 years ago, and saw the city center from the hill of San Pietro, embraced by the river, I fell in love with it. It was natural therefore to want to learn more about its past and architectural heritage. Living in Verona, during my university years, I started to love also its hidden corners, its culinary traditions to be found in many of the "osterie" of the old town center. With my three hours tour I will try to give you an overview of the history and architecture of Verona and I will do it through not only its most famous spots but also its hidden corners. I will try to give you some suggestions for things to see during your free time and, why not, also some tips for discovering our culinary traditions. I am sure you will love the final view of the town from the hill, and you will fall in love with Verona as I once did!
We can start the tour at a monument of "Piazza Bra" or from your hotel if it is located in town. During the walk we will see: - Castelvecchio, a medieval castle, last residence of the Lords of Verona - The "Gavi Arch", a triumphal arch dating from the 1st A. C - Piazza Bra' and the Roman amphitheater 'Arena' - Juliet's house with its legendary balcony - Piazza delle Erbe, with its lively market stalls - The "Lord's square", with the palaces of the Scaligeri family - The so-called "Arche" best Gothic architecture in Verona - Via Sottoriva and the charming medieval alleyways - The Roman Bridge "Ponte Pietra" At the end of our tour we will reach Castel San Pietro using the funicular (or on foot if you are feeling fit!). From the hill we will enjoy a spectacular view of the city: sunset is for sure the best time for special photographs! In case you decide to enter the Arena, remember that being with a registered guide you will skip the line. In summer, I suggest this tour early in the morning or after 4pm.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
