Ciao! I am pleased to meet you. My name is Antonella and I would love to show you Verona and Lake Garda though my eyes. I am a licensed city and hiking guide and I have a degree in History of Art. I live not far from Verona, by lake Garda, surrounded by nature, with a huge cultural heritage and are rich in history and local traditions. When I was young my passion for traveling brought me to South America, where I spent six months backpacking through different countries. The highlight of that experience was volunteering for a non-profit organization in Peru, where I had the chance to discover how people truly lived there. Since then, whenever I visit a new country or place I look for its "authentic side", the events which determined the history, the folklore and the culinary traditions. Art and Architecture are also very important, as they are the tangible expression of the past and the identity of a land. This is exactly what I'd like to give you during my tours: it's me, living here, with the love for my land and my curiosity for different cultures. I am convinced that every time I say good-bye to my guests I have given them a part of my country, whilst also learning something about theirs. I enjoy working with all people, as well as with families, children and people with disabilities. I'd be more than happy to plan a tailor-made tour for you. Please contact me if you need any more information or any special requirements. What I also love are open air activities: I am a tireless hiker, a passionate cyclist and I recharge my batteries in natural environments. As a licensed hiker and bike-guide, I can also take you on a hiking or biking tour through the villages around Lake Garda, Verona and the amazing Valpolicella wine district. I look forward to meeting you! 2021 license as environmental, bike and hike guide 2018 license as tour guide 2011 degree in History of Art at the University of Verona 2001 license as tour leader I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Every time that I visit a new place, it's important to me to know its history and to see the signs of its past. But very important to me is also to try to understand how people think and live, in order to have an authentic idea of what I am discovering. This is exactly what I will try to do with this two-hour tour: to show you Verona through my eyes! We will discover Verona through its symbols, starting with the most important one, the Roman Amphitheater called Arena. Of course you will see the highlights of the city center but also some of its hidden corners. We will walk through the charming medieval quarters and learn about the history of Verona, through the life of some of its most famous inhabitants. Last, but not least, we will discover Verona's culinary traditions; its most famous cakes and dishes. I am sure that by the end of the walk you will want to taste them as soon as possible!
We can start the tour from Piazza Bra, or from your hotel if it is located in the city. During the walk we will see: - Castelvecchio, a medieval castle, last residence of the Lords of Verona - The "Gavi Arch" a triumphal arch of the 1st a. C - Piazza Bra' and the Roman amphitheater - Porta Borsari, Roman Entrance Gate - Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori, with the lively market stalls - The Scaligeri family's tomb called "Arche" best Gothic architecture in Verona - Juliet's house with its legendary balcony *All buildings will be viewed just from outside. * Please note this tour can be customized.
