Taormina and Savoca

I am exited to propose you this tour because you can admire different aspects of Sicily. Today Savoca is famous because they filmed some of the most famous scenes of "The Godfather" as the marriage of Michael and Apollonia in the Church of Saint Lucie and the wedding party in the little square in front of the Bar Vitelli that still exists and still makes very refreshing granita. Leaving aside the movie you will discover a typical medieval village that was built in the top of a very suggestive hill that dominates the southern side of the Strait of Messina Taormina, however, is today one of the most touristic attraction of Sicily. In the last years it became more famous because they filmed the second season of The White Lotus and the hotel of San Domenico became the site of the hotel in the tv series Apart from the many tv shows made in Taormina, it is a town that really deserves a visit for the greek-roman theatre, the "passeggiata" in the main street, the wonderful public garden and the medieval architecture

We will start this tour visiting the little village of Savoca. We will make a relaxing walk in the narrow streets and see the most famous monuments: - Bar Vitelli, set of The Godfather, you can try the lemon granita with the buiscuit "a zuccarata" - The Medieval Gate - The Mother Curch - The Curch of Saint Lucie, set of the wedding in the movie - The Calvario's view point, just if you are good walkers since there are many steps to achive this hill If you want to see something "strong" we can also book a visit of the Catacombes in the crypt of the Cappuccini Monks' Monastery where we can see mummified corpses of monks and noble people of the past After Savova we will move to Taormina. We will do a lovely "passeggiata" in the main streets and we will see: - Greek-Roman Theatre - The Duomo Church - The Public Gardens - The "White Lotus Hotel" that in the real life is the Four Seasons Hotel inside the forme Convent of Saint Dominic. During this journey we can stop for lunch whenever and wherever you want!
