HI, I am Emilia. I'm a licensed tour guide in Sicily. I began building up my experience in this field 8 years ago. It all started when I realized that I really love the place where I live, and showing it to visitors gives me a lot of joy and a sense of accomplishment. That's why it became my full time job. Then I graduated in Italian philology and literature because it forms a part of my interest as well, since our language and culture have origins in the Greek and Roman worlds. In Sicily we cannot avoid talking about Greek and Roman footprints. You can still feel the presence of ancient rulers here… What makes Sicily unique is the wide variety of places to see and things to do. You can have an unforgettable experience visiting a baroque church or …pastry shop! Local food is another reason why I feel so much attached to my land ;) University degree in Italian philology I am not a professional driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

In this tour I will show you ancient ruins and archaelogical finds that are a vivid testimony to the glory and splendour of Syracuse during Greek period. At the archeological park Neapolis we will admire the stunning monuments built at that time and at the archeological museum P. Orsi will see a rich collection of ancient objects and artifacts. Finally we will move to Ortigia island where Greek monuments together with buildings from different times make it a unique place, rich in history. The tour is like time travel!

We had a wonderful private 5.5 hr walking tour of Siracusa and Ortigia with Emilia S. Emilia was so very informative . She has such a passion for what she does. When I say we learned so very much, we did! The archaeological park was amazing. An audio tour does not compare to what Emilia shared with us. She was very professional, energetic and engaging. 1. Archaeological Park Neapolis - We will see the Greek Theatre, Altar of Hieron II, the Ear of Dionysius, Roman Amphitheatre. 2. Archeological museum Paolo Orsi. It is some minutes walk from the Archeological Park. 3. Ortigia - we will need a taxi\car to get there. We will have a stroll through the labyrinth of narrow ancient streets; we will see there among others the ruins of Apollo Temple, the main square with the Cathedral that was built over an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Athena and the Font of Arethusa, a picturesque place linked to a myth narrated by Ovid.
